Wayne Lineker has revealed his older brother Gary has always been a ‘secret hero’ of his and he looks up to him.
The club owner, 58, discussed his relationship with former footballer Gary, 60, during Tuesday’s episode of Celebs Go Dating.
Wayne was chatting to receptionist Tom Read Wilson who said he thinks the Lineker brothers have a ‘gentle’ spirit.

He said: ‘Such a gentle spirit, I think it’s a Lineker trait. Isn’t Gary the only footballer whose never received a red or a yellow card?’
Wayne replied: ‘That’s very true. He’s always been a secret hero of mine really, I look up to Gary. I would say he’s almost as intelligent as you.’
‘Oh no, much more,’ Tom said.
Wayne jokingly added: ‘He’s got the intelligence, I got the cheekiness, and obviously the looks.’

In December, Wayne paid tribute to the England legend on his 60th birthday by sharing a series of previously unseen childhood photos.
Sharing a series of old photos with followers, he wrote: ‘Happy Birthday 60th big bro ..I will always be proud of you. Love you lots.’
It’s understood that Wayne, who co-owns popular Ibiza bar O Beach, and Gary were previously at the heart of a family rift following the pundit’s marriage to now ex-wife Danielle Bux in 2009.
Speaking to The Sun in 2016, he said: ‘In my opinion Danielle cost me my relationship with my brother.

‘Sadly Gary is no longer a part of my life. Within a year we had spent less time talking than we ever had before.
‘It was like an itch I couldn’t scratch and I couldn’t understand why our contact had fizzled out.’
However the businessman’s post suggested they have since resolved their differences, with Wayne sharing a number of images from their school days alongside a more recent image of the pair on a night out.
Wayne is taking part in the current series of Celebs Go Dating alongside the likes of Chloe Ferry, Sophie Hermann, Curtis Pritchard and Tom Zanetti.
Celebs Go Dating: The Mansion airs Sunday to Thursday at 9pm on E4.
