Second teenager is arrested for murder after ex-Tory activist’s 22-year-old son was stabbed to death on Waitrose shopping trip

  • Sven Badzak, 22, was attacked on Willesden Lane in Kilburn at 5.30pm Saturday  
  • A second teenager, 19, was arrested this afternoon on suspicion of the murder
  • A boy, 17, was arrested on suspicion of murder Tuesday and remains in custody
  • Mother Jasna Badzak, 49, called on Prime Minister to ensure son’s killers caught 

A second teenager has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of an aspiring lawyer, 22, who was attacked after going to Waitrose to buy his mother orange juice.

The 19-year-old man was detained this afternoon over the stabbing of Sven Badzak in Kilburn, north-west London, on Saturday, February 6.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday and remains in custody at an east London police station.

Mr Badzak, who was working for his father’s construction company and hoped to do a law conversion course, had been to Waitrose supermarket and was waiting outside a bagel shop with a friend when the pair were attacked. 

They were allegedly chased and became separated before Mr Badzak fell to the ground and was stabbed multiple times.

His 16-year-old friend also suffered multiple stab injuries but escaped into a shop in Willesden Lane, and is in a stable condition in hospital.

Mr Badzak’s mother, a former Conservative Party activist, called on the Prime Minister to help ensure her son’s killers are caught.  

Ms Badzak said her son had met Boris Johnson and other well-known Conservative politicians when he was younger, through her campaigning work with the party.
