Rose Leslie and Kit Harington announce birth of their baby boy

Game Of Thrones co-stars Rose Leslie and Kit Harington are officially first-time parents after welcoming the birth of their son.

Rose and Kit, 33, are ‘very, very happy’ after welcoming their first child together according to their representative, who confirmed the birth on Tuesday.

The married couple first revealed the arrival of their son by stepping out with the little one in London earlier in the day.

In pictures obtained by Page Six, beaming Kit held his wife’s hand while she cradled the newborn in a baby carrier on her chest.

They had largely stayed out of the public eye since announcing that Rose was pregnant via a photoshoot in September last year.

Rose showcased her blossoming baby bump for the first time in a stunning black-and-white picture from the shoot for Make magazine, where the beaming actress, who starred as Ygritte in game Of Thrones, clutched her stomach.

While Rose debuted her bump during the shoot, she did not comment on her pregnancy during accompanying interview with the publication.

However, the star did reveal that she and Kit had been isolating at their new Tudor manor house in East Anglia, which she jokingly referred to as ‘the house that Jon Snow built’.

She added: ‘It’s incredibly old. We have a thatched roof, which currently has an enormous hornet’s nest in it.

‘I do love to think about the house and all the people who have lived there. Were they happy, how did they live? All the families passing under those ancient beams.’

In October, Rose revealed she was ‘thrilled’ to be expecting her first child as she addressed her pregnancy for the first time.

Speaking to the New York Post, she gushed: ‘I am thrilled to be expecting. I can’t wait to meet the new member of our family!’

Ahead of the baby’s arrival, the couple had added to their brood by getting a pandemic puppy in the form of a tiny whippet.

‘It was a wonderful thing,’ she told the newspaper. ‘If we hadn’t been forced to stay behind our front door, we couldn’t properly train her and make sure she didn’t poop all over the house.’

Outside of making a joint appearance at the Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills in January, the couple have only been sighted on the odd occasion in London.

They celebrated their two-year wedding anniversary over the summer, after tying the knot in June 2018 at Rose’s aristocratic family’s spectacular 12th-century Wardhill Castle in Aberdeenshire.

Last month, they were given the green light to renovate their moated Grade II-listed £1.75million home in time for the arrival of their first child.

The thespian couple had been told they could create a new kitchen and install a trendy bath tub in a bedroom at the 16th century farmhouse in Suffolk.

The work will include a theatrical kitchen complete with wood-burning stove and showpiece central island, a part of the project which alone will cost about £100,000.

Rose and Kit, who fell in love on the set of the popular TV series, bought their thatched Tudor farmhouse in Suffolk three years ago.

They also plan to install a new boiler, radiators and pipes in the listed building, and rip up the floorboards to fit new piping for a Victorian-style freestanding bath in the master bedroom. The total cost of the renovations is likely to exceed £500,000.

Kit and Rose – who are expecting their first child early next year – wish to move their current kitchen from the northern end of the house to a 1960s extension and remove an Aga, replacing it with a wood burning stove.

Kit was said to have been paid £390,000 per episode to play Jon Snow in Thrones.

He has said of their country home, which sits in eight acres and baosts a swimming pool, stables, tennis court, banqueting hall and croquet lawn: ‘I found my own little spot in the county of Suffolk and I’m now a Suffolk boy. I love it. It is really special to me.’

Rose was catapulted to fame with her role of Ygritte in Game Of Thrones, where she met Kit, who played love interest and reluctant hero Jon Snow.

Speaking to Stylist magazine about her time in lockdown, Rose said: ‘I feel incredibly grateful. My husband and I were fortunate to spend lockdown in the countryside.’

She continued: ‘We raised a puppy in lockdown. We were trying to eke out conversation over the dinner table, talking about nothing but what we’d eat the next day. It has been an extraordinary time for all of us, it certainly slowed us down.’
