Renee Zellweger, Awkwafina and Kristen Wiig named as presenters at the 2021 Golden Globe Awards

The guest list at the 2021 Golden Globe Awards has just got much longer.

Renee Zellweger, Awkwafina and Kristen Wiig were among the first names announced on Wednesday as presenters at Hollywood’s biggest party.

The incredible women will be joined on stage by Cynthia Erivo, Joaquin Phoenix and Wigg’s Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Mar co-star Annie Mumolo.

The 78th Annual Golden Globe Awards will be handed out Sunday, February 28. Funny women Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are back as hosts – this time from separate coasts.

The 50-year-old Tina will be stationed in New York City at Rockefeller Center’s Rainbow Room, while 49-year-old Amy will be at the event’s normal venue, The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. 

This is the fourth time the duo have hosted the affair after taking the duties in 2013, 2014 and 2015. 

The 51-year-old Zellweger won a 2020 trophy for her work in the biopic Judy, while 46-year-old Phoenix, 46, won one for his performance in the comic book adaptation Joker. 

The two both went on to nab Academy Awards soon after. 

Awkwafina also snapped up a Golden Globe last year for her first nomination in the family drama The Farewell. The 32-year-old Crazy Rich Asians actress currently stars in the dark comedy Breaking News in Yuba County.

Kristen and Annie are currently promoting their new comedy Barb and Star Go To Vista Del Mar, currently on VOD. The duo also wrote the 2011 breakout hit Bridesmaids.

The 47-year-old SNL veteran received a Golden Globe nomination for her hilarious work in the classic buddy comedy.

Cynthia scored two nominations at the 2020 ceremony for Harriet and the 34-year-old Tony Award winner is gearing up for the March premiere of her turn as Aretha Franklin in NatGeo’s latest season of Genius.

The night’s biggest honor will go to Jane Fonda. The 83-year-old actress will be the recipient of this year’s Cecil B. DeMille Award, which recognizes lifetime achievement in film.

Previous honorees include Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks and Oprah Winfrey. 

Past Globes winners Sarah Jessica Parker and Taraji P. Henson announced the event’s nominees virtually on February 3. David Fincher’s Netflix drama Mank received the most nominations out of any film with six, including Best Motion Picture – Drama.

On the television side, hit Netflix period drama The Crown led the way with six nominations. Stars Josh O’Connor and Emma Corrin were acknowledged for their standout performances as Prince Charles and Princess Diana.

Schitt’s Creek, which aired its final season in 2020, followed close behind with five nominations. All four of the comedy’s lead actors received nods for their work.  

Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman received a posthumous nomination – his first – for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for his role in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.

The 78th Annual Golden Globe Awards will air on Sunday, Feb. 28 at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET on NBC and will be available to stream the next day on Peacock.
