Courtney Love said a ‘bunch of #MeToos’ drove her away from her acting career post Harvey Weinstein

Courtney Love said a ‘bunch of #MeToos’ drove her away from her acting career… after she warned actresses to ‘stay away’ from Harvey Weinstein back in 2005

Courtney Love admitted that a ‘bunch of #MeToos’ drove her away from a budding acting career, years after she warned actresses to ‘stay away’ from Harvey Weinstein.

In honor of late film director Miloš Forman, who worked with Courtney in The People vs. Larry Flynt, the 56-year-old singer reminisced on collaborating with a true professional who helped her earn a Golden Globes nomination for the role of Flynt’s fourth wife, Althea Leasure.

Courtney said ‘one day I might talk about it’ as she delved into her short career in front of the camera, a lost time she credited to ending too soon after she ‘stopped being capable’ following a ‘bunch of #metoos.’

‘For a few years, because of Milos Forman, I was a professional actress and a movie star. It was fun as hell,’ she wrote online. ‘I was nominated for best actress, for a Golden Globe .. One day I might talk about it.’

Courtney shared a host of photos from the night at the awards ceremony in addition to a clip of Milos praising the actress for her innate abilities.

‘I love acting … I stopped being capable of it after a bunch of #metoos,’ she wrote. ‘No one would believe me, and it wouldn’t stop. So I left, and it left. And I’m good with it. Maybe, in my next life I’ll be stronger & able to endure it .. I tip my hat to those who can.’

In 2005, Courtney offered advice to young actresses in the industry while on a red carpet event.

‘I’ll get libeled if I say it,’ she began. ‘If Harvey Weinstein invites you to a private party in the Four Seasons [hotel] don’t go.’

Harvey co-founded the major studio with his brother in 1979 and ran Miramax until 2005 when he found his own, self-titled group, The Weinstein Company.

Gwyneth Paltrow accused Weinstein of assaulting her in a hotel room and is widely credited with helping The New York Times’ Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey uncover multiple accusations of sexual abuse and harassment allegations.

‘It was super fun though. Here’s me at the Golden Globes in a simple, navy, chiffon, gown that Ms. Sharon Stone loaned me from her closet (the GOWN closet ! #properdiva) it’s Maison Valentino.

‘Sharon said, ‘You’re acting too hip. Don’t be cool. F*** that. You’re a great actress. Stand up straight! Be proud of your work! Be a movie star.’ When Sharon Stone is offering you movie star lessons? You take them .’

Courtney added that she loves it ‘here in England’ but misses ‘acting sometimes’ as she praised Milos for being a ‘great director.’

‘One of the greatest experiences, as a woman you can have, I think,’ she wrote. ‘All the glamour that comes after that is fun, flamboyant, gorgeous ! But the trust one can achieve with a great director? It’s one of the most profound things I’ve ever known.’
