Army of the Dead poster reveals Netflix release date for Zack Snyder’s bloody zombie showdown

An epic bloody showdown is coming to Las Vegas with the new poster for Netflix‘s Army of the Dead arriving on Sunday.

The poster also reveals that this zombie adventure from director Zack Snyder, who made his feature film debut with the 2004 remake of George A. Romero’s Dawn of the Dead, will be released on Netflix May 21.

Snyder, 54, also took to Twitter on Sunday to share the poster, while also revealing the new trailer will debut on Thursday.

The poster also reveals the tagline, ‘Survivors take all, featuring the door of a large casino vault, with several zombie limbs reaching out of the door. 

The scene is littered with playing cards, poker chips and $100 bills among all of the bloody carnage.

The story centers on a group of mercenaries who descend upon Las Vegas just as a zombie outbreak occurs.

They use the madness surrounding the zombie outbreak within the quarantine zone to try and pull off one of the greatest heists ever.

The cast includes Dave Bautista, Hiroyuki Sanada, Ella Purnell, Garret Dillahunt, Theo Rossi, Michael Cassidy, Omari  Hardwick, Matthias Schweighöfer and Tig Notaro.

Netflix also announced in September that they are producing an anime prequel series entitled Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas.

Matthias Schweighöfer will also return as Ludwig Dieter, and he will also direct the series, which will be produced in his home country of Germany.

The show will follow the origin story of Scott (Dave Bautista) and his rescue crew during the initial fall of Vegas as they confront the mysterious source of the zombie outbreak.

Zack Snyder will direct 2 episodes of the anime series, while Jay Oliva (Batman: The Dark Knight Returns and upcoming Netflix Original Anime Series Trese) will be showrunning as well as directing 2 episodes of the series. 

Ana De La Reguera, Tig Notaro, Omari Hardwick and Ella Purnell will reprise their feature roles in the anime series. 

The cast will also include Joe Manganiello (Justice League) as Rose, Christian Slater (Mr. Robot) as Torrance, Harry Lennix (The Blacklist) as Boorman, Ross Butler (13 Reasons Why) as Chen, Anya Chalotra (The Witcher) as Lucilia, Vanessa Hudgens (Tick, Tick … Boom!) as Willow, Jena Malone (Antebellum) as Zeta, Yetide Badaki (American Gods) as Queen Meeru, Christina Wren (Man of Steel) as Nicole, Monica Barbaro (The Good Cop) as Meagan and Nolan North (Star Trek: Lower Decks) as Clemenson.
