Vanessa Bryant has called out Meek Mill over a distasteful lyric about her late husband Kobe Bryant‘s death.
The widow of the LA Lakers star broke her silence Monday, following a social media outcry over the weekend.
She responded to the Grammy-nominated rapper about an unreleased collab with Lil Baby that leaked online, allegedly titled Don’t Worry (RIP Kobe), featuring the line: ‘Yeah, and if I ever lack, I’m goin’ out with my chopper, it be another Kobe.’

The 38-year-old recently marked one year since Kobe and their daughter Gianna tragically died when their helicopter crashed in Calabasas, California.
She wrote to Meek, 33, on her Instagram Story: ‘Dear @meekmill, I find this line to be extremely insensitive and disrespectful. Period.
‘I am not familiar with any of your music, but I believe you can do better than this. If you are a fan, fine, there’s a better way to show your admiration for my husband. This lacks respect and tact.’
Shortly after being tagged in the statement, Meek wrote on Twitter: ‘I’m going back savage in this s*** … f#%k ya feelings!’

It wasn’t clear if he was referring to Vanessa or any of the other recent backlash, but he tweeted again several minutes later: ‘Ion trust people gotta play it raw ……’
He previously appeared to deny responsibility for the line, implying it was faked in another tweet: ‘They paying to influence y’all now … its almost like mind control “wake up”‘
Meek doubled down, writing: ‘somebody promo a narrative and y’all follow it…. y’all internet antics cannot stop me ….shit like zombie land or something! Lol’

Kobe and Gianna died last January at 41 and 13 years old (respectively), along with seven other people, as they traveled to a youth basketball game at Mamba Sports Academy in Thousand Oaks.
The basketball legend married Vanessa in April of 2001, and they shared daughters Gianna Maria-Onore, Natalia Diamante, 18, Bianka Bella, four, and Capri Kobe, one.
Vanessa mournfully observed the first anniversary of Kobe and Gianna’s death last month, writing on Instagram: ‘I miss my baby girl and Kob-Kob so much, too.
‘I will never understand why/how this tragedy could’ve happened to such beautiful, kind and amazing human beings. It still doesn’t seem real. Kob, we did it right. Gigi, you still make mommy proud. I love you!’
