Phillip Schofield has shown off his bulging bicep as he revealed he’d been training is body during the third national lockdown.

The Dancing On Ice host, 58, took to Instagram on Friday to give his fans a glimpse of his ‘tiny guns’ amid his impressive body transformation. 

Flexing his muscles for the camera, Phillip said: ‘Well if there’s an upside to lockdown 3…My training has given me tiny guns.’

The star ended his caption with crying with laughter emojis and Instagram stickers of weights 

Visible in the background was a selection of dumbbells, which Phillip has clearly been making the most of during his free time. 

And Phillip certainly has had a lot of extra time on his hands to work on his fitness seeing as last weekend’s Dancing On Ice show was cancelled.    

The presenter recently mocked this year’s disastrous series after five stars have quit the show and it was forced to take a one-week hiatus.

Phillip poked fun at the ‘cursed’ skating show which is due to return this week, during Thursday’s episode of This Morning.

As Phillip discussed the show’s return with co-host Holly Willoughby, 40, the duo questioned whether it will go ahead to due the alarming drop out level.

Holly revealed that Rebekah Vardy and Faye Brookes will be appearing on Friday’s instalment of This Morning and Phillip sarcastically asked: ‘Are we on this weekend?’ 

Holly quipped: ‘I think we might be… at the moment.’

Phillip said: ‘That’s nice. As we’ve come to learn with this year’s series of Dancing On Ice, we have to take each day as it comes!’ 

Earlier this week Jason Donovan became the latest celebrity to quit Dancing On Ice.

The Neighbours star, 52, told fans he was taking a week off to recover from a back injury, however he has now announced he won’t be returning to the ITV show.  

He becomes the fifth star to bow out of the ‘cursed’ competition after Denise Van Outen and Billie Faiers have to leave due to injuries and Rufus Hound and Joe-Warren Plant were axed following positive Covid test results.

ITV said in a statement: ‘Jason Donovan has brought us so much joy with his performances on Dancing On Ice – from Priscilla through to the tango. 

‘Our thanks go to Jason and his partner Alex for being so wonderful and committed to the series. We’re sorry to see them leave and we wish Jason a speedy recovery.’ 

Jason had previously announced he’d pulled out of the Valentine’s Day live episode after being advised to rest due to a back injury, but had vowed to return.

It was then revealed all of DOI would be taking a weeks break and the show did not air on Sunday (February 21), to give skaters time to recover following a series of axes.
