Michelle Keegan is fearless as she darts across the motorway filming VERY dramatic car crash scenes

She’s been out and about filming in the freezing countryside to keep the nation entertained during lockdown

And Michelle Keegan looked busy as ever shooting action-packed scenes for series three of Brassic in Manchester on Sunday.

The actress, 33, who plays the single mother Erin Croft, fearlessly darted across the motorway in a red padded jacket after a very dramatic car crash on the set of the Sky One show.

A man in a wheelchair could be seen getting smashed to the ground by an oncoming car as cameras rolled.

He was knocked facedown onto the floor and piles of cash flew into the sky, which the crew later dashed to re-gather.

Michelle then ran across the traffic-packed road to discover the remains of the elaborate stunt.

The actress stood on the edge of the roadside looking out sadly at the catastrophe before her.

And Michelle was followed closely by her co-star Joe Gilgun, who plays Vinne O-Neil in the show.

Joe rushed to follow Michelle as she dashed over the motorway barrier after the spectacular crash played out across the road.

Costume designers had dressed the former Coronation Street star in a red padded jacket and grey cuffed trousers and black combat boots.

Michelle wore her hair in a much-loved half-up-half-down style with the ends lightly curled.

Later, the ex-soap star added another layer and shrugged on her favourite long white padded jacket.

She’s been regularly spotted donning the cosy garment to keep off the Northern chill in between takes.

Like many other shows, Brassic’s filming schedule was slightly derailed by the coronavirus pandemic.

Michelle was forced to stop filming the third series of the show last year, in order to isolate, after she was exposed to COVID-19.

But, luckily, the actress didn’t actually contract the potentially deadly virus.

A source told MailOnline at the time: ‘Michelle had to take time away from the Brassic set and has once again been laying low in Essex with her husband Mark Wright.’

Mark Wright told Hello! magazine he feels ‘forever grateful’ that he has Michelle in his life, after seeing members of his family hit by the virus.

‘I’ve learnt what is most important in life, how important health is, how important family is. That is the number one happiness, the love around you,’ he said.

‘I am just grateful that I get to have her [Michelle] by my side every day, to have someone I can share my life with.

‘To be with Michelle during these times has been incredible, and I’m forever grateful for that.’

But, like a true professional, Michelle was back to work in no time.

The Brassic insider said: ‘She only missed one day of filming. But she needed to isolate after she came into contact with someone in Manchester who had it.

‘Luckily it all happened very quickly and Michelle did not return to the Brassic set before isolating. So it didn’t affect filming too much.’

Brassic follows the story of Lancashire native Vinnie (Joe), who suffers from bipolar disorder and his best friend Dylan, played by Damien Molony, from whom he has been inseparable since childhood.

A tainted past, the boys have dealt, scammed, bribed and conned their way through adolescence.

Now, on the brink of adulthood, their dealing and stealing is catching up with them, with the repercussions of their crimes heading their way.

Michelle plays alongside them as a single mum seeking a better life for herself and son Tyler (Jude Riordan).

While navigating complicated relationships with the show’s leads Dylan and Vinnie, she still strives for a good childhood for her child.

And she and Joe appeared to be having a whale of a time at work as they laughed and shouted on a bridge above the crash.

The new series of Brassic is expected to air on Sky One later this year following two extremely popular previous seasons.
