An arrest warrant has been issued for George Michael’s ex-boyfriend Fadi Fawaz after he failed to attend court to face an allegation he smashed a shop window.

The 44-year-old hairdresser failed to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today for the fourth time.

Fawaz previously failed to attend the same magistrates’ court last month and district judge Alexander Jacobs has now issued a warrant for his arrest.

Fawaz, who lives in Islington, north London, is accused of one count of criminal damage.

He is alleged to have broken a window at Le Fix Natural Beauty Bar in Fitzrovia, near Oxford Street, valued at £800, on December 21, 2020.

He allegedly smashed the shop window just four days before the fourth anniversary of the singer’s death.

Fawaz had also failed to attend in early January after police told him to go to Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court.

The hairstylist did not appear on 26 January but it emerged a notice summoning him to court had not gone out.

He was last due in court on 9 February, but failed to show despite having been given the same warning.

The matter was adjourned following a hearing lasting two minutes.

District Judge Alexander Jacobs said: ‘I am satisfied he was written to at St George’s Avenue. It clearly sets out the right details of the venue and time of the hearing today. It is a warrant with no bail.’

The Wham! frontman, who was 53 at the time of his death, left Fawaz nothing in his £96.7million will.

A coroner later said he died of natural causes – heart disease and a build-up of fat in his liver.
