Vanessa Hudgens’ boyfriend, baseball player Cole Tucker, opened up on their new romance, as she’s set to visit him during spring training this month.

Cole, who plays for the Pittsburgh Pirates, chat with CBS Pittsburgh Friday about his budding romance with the 32-year-old actress, which they made official on Valentine’s Day in an Instagram post she posted.

‘I got a girlfriend and she’s cool,’ Tucker, a 24-year-old shortstop, told the outlet. ‘She’s awesome, I love her.’

He said the actress, who played Gabriella Montez in High School Musical will ‘be around’ at Bradenton, Florida to join him as he gears up for the regular season.

He added: ‘She’s great. She’ll be around. You will see her but you saw the headline, it is what it is.’

Tucker made it clear he didn’t want her presence to take away from his teammates and their significant others, citing pitcher Mitch Keller and third baseman Ke’Bryan Hayes.

‘I don’t want it to be, “Oh, Cole’s dating Vanessa,” I don’t want to be treated any differently than Mitch having his wife down, or Ke’Bryan having his girlfriend come down,’ he said.
