Declan Donnelly is joined by wife Ali Astall as they take pet dachshund Rocky for a walk in London… after returning with Saturday Night Takeaway

He enjoyed a triumphant return to terrestrial TV with an all new socially distanced series of hit show Saturday Night Takeaway.

But Declan Donnelly enjoyed some relative peace away from the spotlight on Thursday as he walked his pet dog with wife Ali Astall.

The affable presenter, 45, kept his instantly recognisable features concealed beneath a protective face covering while giving cute dachshund Rocky a run out close to their London home.

Don’t mind me: Declan Donnelly enjoyed some relative peace away from the spotlight on Thursday as he walked his pet dog with wife Ali Astall in London

Dec looked relaxed in a quilted jacket and jogging bottoms as he guided the inquisitive dog along a narrow footpath.

The presenter added to his casual look with a black baseball cap, white a pair of battered white trainers rounded things off.

Joining her husband, talent manager Ali, 42, looked equally relaxed in a three-quarter length quilted coat and skinny jeans.

The couple wed in 2015, before welcoming their daughter Isla in September 2018. Ali was Dec’s manager for 10 years before romance blossomed between the pair.

Ali recently spent time in a Welsh cottage with her husband of five years as he filmed the first UK series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in November and December.

Dec’s TV partner Ant McPartlin had jokingly threatened to sack her for signing them up to do their first ever Bushtucker Trials, after 19 years of watching other stars do tasks, during the I’m A Celebrity… A Jungle Story special.

Ant, 44, couldn’t hide his fer as he and his sidekick were forced to take part in three challenges, including Catch A Falling Star, Face Your Fears and an eating task.

Viewers rejoiced and admitted their stint was ‘the lift they needed’ as the tables turned for the Geordie duo.

Presented by Joel Dommett, the TV stars were left unimpressed Joel announced the first BTT, which required the duo to catch stars which dropped on their head, after being covered in green slime and creepy crawlies.

Sharing his shock at talent manager Ali, an irritated Ant admitted: ‘What’s funny is that Dec’s wife is our manager, so she signed all of this off. Your wife is so sacked!’
