Frankie Essex reveals she has lost 2st after hitting ‘rock bottom’

Frankie Essex has revealed she has lost two stone and slimmed down to a size 10-12 in four months after hitting ‘rock bottom’ last year.

Talking in a new candid interview, the former TOWIE star, 33, admitted she has got her ‘confidence back’ after her weight crept up to 12 stone 13 pounds in November.

Frankie confessed that she hit ‘breaking point’ four months ago and felt like ‘a mess’ after her healthy eating habits went ‘wayside’ when restaurants briefly reopened.

Talking to Closer magazine after slimming down to 11st, the reality said: ‘I’m proud of my transformation and I feel like I’ve got my confidence back. I’ve lost weight all over but I’ve mostly trimmed my belly and waist.’

Frankie admitted that due to lockdown and then restaurants briefly reopening again, her weight slowly crept up as she opted for ‘easy’ takeaways over home cooked meals while her exercise came to a ‘standstill’.

The reality star, who has a slow metabolism, said that she ‘loves’ food but she was going wrong with her portion sizes as she would eat the same as her personal trainer boyfriend Luke, 31, who ‘can eat a lot’.

Talking about her decision to change, Frankie said: ‘I knew I was already overweight and with Christmas coming up, I realised that if I put on any more weight, I’d be close to being the heaviest I’d ever been. I just couldn’t do that to myself.’

She added: ‘I can’t keep going up and down because it’s not good for you in the longterm, it makes you feel sluggish and puts you at risk of diabetes. Plus I haven’t had children yet and I wan’t to be as healthy as I can when the time comes.’

Frankie revealed that she has been following Muscle Food’s Goal Getters plan which consists of eating five times a day with three ‘hearty’ and ‘calorie-controlled’ meals.

The reality star noted that as well as her weight loss she has noticed an improvement in her skin and that she now has a ‘slimmer’ face.

Although despite her staggering two stone weight loss, Frankie admitted that her boyfriend Luke doesn’t want her to get ‘too skinny’ as he loves her curves and bum.

The reality star also sweetly credited Luke, who she has dated for two years, for helping her ‘come out my shell’ as he is a ‘good soul’.

Frankie also revealed that he gets on with her brother Joey Essex and that they have one-hour phone calls without her knowing.

It comes after the reality star revealed to MailOnline in November that she had hit ‘rock bottom’ after her weight crept up to 12 stone and 13 pounds.

Frankie admitted she ‘felt like s***’ when she discovered her weight after ‘swerving those scales’ during the coronavirus pandemic.

Reality star Frankie has been open about her fluctuating figure in the past, having shed two stone back in 2016, before gaining weight a year later due to a crippling knee injury.

The older sister of Joey Essex overhauled her eating habits once again in 2019, but insisted she’s struggled to commit to the lifestyle since COVID-19 struck.

‘I make so many excuses’, the media personality told MailOnline. ‘I got on the scales about two weeks ago at the night time – which you shouldn’t really do – and I was 12st 13lbs. I just thought, ”Oh my God!”

‘I kept making excuses until I hit rock bottom and got on the scales. I didn’t even tell Luke at first, but I’m only hurting myself at the end of the day. It’s not really about the dress size for me, as if I lose weight, I’d still be able to fit into a lot of my clothes.

‘I tend to put on weight on my legs and my belly, but I usually have a small waist. I recently started working at a school, and I’ve just been eating all the sweet treats! I can’t eat what I want everyday.’

Confessing she ‘freaked out’ at the prospect of tipping the scales at 13 stone, Frankie added: ‘It upsets me and I just feel really swollen. I just feel big, so I need to sort this out.

‘With the leading up to Christmas, if I just go all out and keep on eating what I want, then I’m going to be the biggest I’ve ever been and feel really s**t. I can’t do that to myself because then I’d feel even worse.

‘My boyfriend is really healthy, but I’ve been eating what I want during this lockdown and during my recent birthday. You see it pile on quite quickly, especially with the drinking.’

Last year, the social media star briefly returned to TOWIE as the ITVBe show marked its 10-year anniversary.
