It’s been one year since American actress Kate Walsh’s ‘short holiday’ to Australia was unexpectedly, and indefinitely, extended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

And on Tuesday, the Grey’s Anatomy star looked every inch a local as she stepped out in Perth in a low-key ensemble.

The 53-year-old was all smiles as she left a Pilates class near the coastline in active wear and a white jacket.

Kate left the class with her brunette hair tied up in a no-fuss bun, but later let it down as she put on a stylish pair of sunglasses.

The actress, who is also known for her roles in Private Practice and 13 Reasons Why, appeared to go makeup free, drawing attention to her ageless features.

Kate has previously spoken about her love of Pilates, and how she partners Pilates sessions with hot yoga, long walks and weight training to maintain her figure.

Interestingly, Kate’s old $4.25 million LA mansion in Encino had a guest house converted into a personal Pilates studio.

Kate has appeared on a number of popular TV shows including Grey’s Anatomy and its spin off Private Practice.

‘If they could get it done, I’d be happy to come back.. Maybe I’ll Zoom in. Dr. Addison Montgomery could Zoom in,’ Kate told PEOPLE this week that she would ‘absolutely’ reprise her role on Grey’s Anatomy if given the chance.

Kate found herself ‘stuck’ in Australia in March 2020 when the coronavirus was declared a global pandemic by The World Health Organization (WHO).

‘I didn’t really want to go back to New York in the middle of a pandemic when it was pretty gnarly to say the least,’ she told Sydney’s Daily Telegraph in August 2020.

‘I couldn’t go home initially, and now that I can, I don’t really fancy going back.’

In late 2020, she hinted her move to Australia was becoming a more permanent one by relocating her pet animals to be flown into the country.
