Naughty! Bono’s daughter Eve Hewson has revealed she used to prank call Justin Timberlake after stealing her famous dad’s address book

Speaking on Thursday’s This Morning, Eve admitted she loved to play pranks with her siblings while they grew up together in Dublin.

She explained: ‘I like to take advantage of my circumstances sometimes, and when I was younger I stole my dad’s address book, I tried to prank call a few people, but Justin picked up, so we asked him trivial questions from the back of a cereal box.

‘He did well and I think that’s why he didn’t hang up, I don’t know what his need to win is he must be a very competitive person.’

Reflecting on her childhood she added: ‘We kind of got the best of both worlds because I grew up in Dublin and I had my regular Dublin life.

‘Every now and then we get to go away on tour with my dad and have this wild rock and roll experience and then come home and take the train to school again, it was a strange balance, but I enjoyed both.’

Eve, whose mother is Ali Hewson, had previously revealed that her dad tried to stop her fraternising with his support band while she was a teenager, insisting ‘no more boys in her 20s.’

‘There got to a point in my teens when my dad couldn’t hire good-looking support bands any more. He was like, “No more boys in their twenties, please God!”

Eve, who has been praised by audiences for her role in Netflix thriller Behind The Eyes, went onto admit her parents weren’t so keen on her decision to pursue a career in Hollywood.

She added: ‘This was years ago this was when I was a teenager, they were sort of, maybe it was a reverse psychology kind of thing.

‘They didn’t want me to do it, they were scared of Hollywood, they kind of tried to get me to stop, but I overpowered them and here we are.’

The screen star confessed she didn’t have the focus to follow in her father’s footsteps and pursue a career in music, as she ‘got bored’ trying to learn her instruments.

‘I was again a terrible pupil, I was really bad at practicing I couldn’t do my scales it just bored me, so when I started acting I could act all day long and read the scripts but scales and music theory wasn’t my interest,’ she said.

‘I kind of had some sort of existential crisis and thought maybe it wasn’t for me, I was reading a lot of roles that weren’t that interesting to me, there was a lot of girlfriend roles, not really as dynamic as I hoped, and I thought it’s hard to stay in the business anyway.

‘I ended up reading the script for luminaries and that sort of changed my mind.’
