This Morning’s Holly and Phil left in hysterics as a seal pees live on air

‘Give the animal some dignity!’ This Morning descends into chaos as a seal pees live on air leaving Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby in hysterics

This Morning descended into chaos on Monday after a seal peed live on air.

Hosts Holly Willoughby, 40, and Phillip Schofield, 58, were left horrified before bursting into giggles as Freddie the seal relieved herself live on air.

As the camera zoomed in to get a closer look of the action, a compassionate Phil was quick to exclaim: ‘Give the animal some dignity!’

Oh dear! Hosts Holly Willoughby, 40, and Phillip Schofield, 58, were left horrified before bursting into giggles as Freddie the seal relieved herself live on air

The hilarity began when the show’s vet Scott Miller presented a segment from the river bank in Teddington, where he told of Freddie’s rescue from the Thames.

However, as Scott spoke with Freddie the seal lying behind him, he was soon alerted to the fact that Freddie began to wee behind him.

He exclaimed: ‘Oh wow! He’s having a wee on live TV, that’s lovely’ as Holly and Phil looked on in horror.

As the camera then zoomed in, Phil called for the show to give the seal some privacy as he yelled: ‘Oh let’s zoom in then, marvellous – let the animal have some dignity! Back off, back off!’

Meanwhile, Holly could barely contain her laughter as she covered her hand with her mouth.

She then commented on the unfortunate timing of the incident as she added: ‘They always do it don’t they?!’

Watching the hilarity unfold, This Morning viewers were quick to take to Twitter to comment.

One person tweeted: ‘A Seal taking a slash. Not something you see on live telly every day.’

While another remarked: ‘Clip of the day seeing the seal pittling.’

‘As if they zoomed in on the seal having a wee’, remarked a third watcher.

Funny: Holly could barely contain her laughter as she covered her hand with her mouth. She then commented on the unfortunate timing, adding: 'They always do it don't they?!'

While a fourth shared: ”The seal having a wee on live TV has made my morning’.

As the presenters tried to move on from their hysterics, they then introduced Lyndsey Crombie’s upcoming cleaning segment.

However, this backfired spectacularly as upon seeing Lyndsey pulling a deadpan expression while scrubbing her shower, the duo then fell about in uncontrollable laughter.

Struggling to keep things together, Holly squealed ‘go away!’ as she urged producers to quickly cut to an ad break.

This Morning continues weekdays from 10am on ITV.
