  • Rather than spending thousands on a nose job, the offering is priced at $450
  • The treatment only takes one hour and results can be expected in eight weeks

A Sydney cosmetic salon is offering a non-surgical ‘nose job’ for a fraction of the typical $5,000 rhinoplasty price tag.

Reejuvenate, in the inner west suburb of Drummoyne, offer a one-hour nose sculpting treatment for $450 per session and claim it is almost completely painless.

Using the plasma fibroblast technique, the shape of the nose is transformed as the skin is tightened and improved.

Before and after images show how the quick procedure works to lift the tip and pinch the bridge of a nose for a well-rounded look.

The recovery time takes between four to 12 days and results can be expected after eight weeks.

How does it work?

The treatment uses plasma fibroblast to tighten and improve the overall appearance of the skin.

According to Healthline, the beauty therapy targets fibroblasts, which are collagen-producing cells located in the under layer of the skin.

The fibroblasts play an essential role in healing wounds and maintaining skin firmness.

The plasma tip used during the treatment doesn’t touch the skin directly, but releases a ‘targeted current just above the skin’ to create small holes or micro-injuries.

‘An arc of plasma which blasts from the needle tip onto the epidermis causes an immediate contraction of the skin tissue and also thermal disruption within the dermis,’ the salon wrote on Instagram.

‘This stimulates collagen production for the next few months.’

As the protein is broken down and the tissue regenerates the skin contracts, resulting in a tighter look.

Does it hurt and what happens next?

Despite speculation, ‘manageable discomfort’ is felt during the procedure.

After the facial therapy, makeup should not be worn for at least eight days until the dots fall off.

‘On the face [the dots] should be gone by day eight. They will start to mostly come off on day four, on the body they can sometimes take a bit longer,’ the salon wrote online.

The dots will not scar the skin if customers follow the proper after care instructions provided – such as avoiding excessive sun exposure.

How many treatments are required?

The number of treatments needed will depend on the individual’s end goal, but customers are often happy after the first session.

The same non-surgical procedure can also be used on the sides of the face, neck, eyelids, forehead and abdomen region.
