Little Mix’s Leigh-Anne Pinnock ‘is in talks to present BBC hairdressing show’

Little Mix‘s Leigh-Anne Pinnock is reportedly in talks to front a new hairstylist competition on the BBC.

The singer, 29, has reportedly been chatting to BBC Three producers about appearing on a new programme that will see hairdressers battle it out to be crowned the best hairstylist.

It comes amid claims her former bandmate Jesy Nelson is launching her solo career after teasing pictures in the recording studio and signing with a new talent management firm.

Plans? Little Mix’s Leigh-Anne Pinnock is reportedly in talks to front a new hairstylist competition on the BBC

A source told The Sun: ‘Leigh-Anne has been working on the idea of a hairdressing competition behind the scenes.

‘It’s all very early days but Leigh-Anne is hugely passionate about the project and BBC Three are really keen to see if they could make it work.

‘It hasn’t been commissioned yet but as far as Leigh-Anne and her team are concerned it’s just a case of when, not if. She loves BBC Three and this is a perfect fit for the channel.’

It would be the first time she has fronted her own TV series, but she did work on the BBC talent show The Search with her bandmates Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson and Jade Thirlwall last Autumn.

The source added that the show could be called ‘Fro’ and that the concept would be similar to The Great British Bake Off where contestants compete to impress the judges.

MailOnline has contacted representatives for Leigh-Anne for a comment.

It comes after her former bandmate Jesy Nelson signed a solo deal with the global management firm YMU three months after officially leaving Little Mix on Tuesday.

The singer, 29, has made the career move after it was reported that she has left the girl band’s record label to launch her solo career.

In a statement from the management firm, Jesy said she was ‘so excited’ and couldn’t ‘wait to start her next chapter’.

YMU is a management company that has clients in sport, music and entertainment, including Take That, Steve Aoki, Ant & Dec and Fearne Cotton.

In a statement seen by Music Week, Jesy said: ‘I am so excited to join YMU and can’t wait to start my next chapter.’

MailOnline contacted representatives for Jesy for a comment at the time.

It was reported last week that the musician had parted ways from Sony’s RCA amid claims she was launching her own solo career.

In recent weeks, the singer has also been treating her fans to glimpses of her trips to the recording studio with renowned producers, Patrick Jordan Patrikios and Sunny.

A source told Daily Star: ‘It’s no secret Jesy has been hitting the studio recently but she’s no longer with RCA. It looks almost certain that she’s parted ways with Sony as a whole as well.

‘She’s looked for a whole new team and since splitting with Little Mix Jesy has been pitched around for a new PR to head up her upcoming projects. All signs point to a clean break and totally new direction.

A music insider added: ‘She’s spent the last decade in the pop machine being told what do and wear – she’s probably ready to take control herself.’

The artist commanded the music charts with bandmates Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards for nine years, before she left the group for the sake of her mental health.

Jesy confirmed her permanent departure, just weeks after revealing she was taking a temporary hiatus from all work commitments.

Her emotional statement read: ‘To all my Mixers, the past nine years in Little Mix has been the most incredible time of my life…

‘The truth is recently being in the band has really taken a toll on my mental health. I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard.

‘There comes a time in life when we need to reinvest in taking care of ourselves rather than focusing on making other people happy, and I feel like now is the time to begin that process.’
