Westlife have announced they will hit the stage at Wembley Stadium this summer – making them the first major act to perform at the iconic venue in two years. 

The four-piece, comprising Shane Filan, Mark Feehily, Kian Egan, and Nicky Byrne, confirmed the exciting news on Friday, with Mark, 40, telling MailOnline: ‘This is going to be up there with the greatest experiences of my life.’

The concerts will fall on 21 and 22 August with All Saints and James Morrison supporting on the first night and All Saints & Anne-Marie on the second. Tickets are available to buy on Friday 26 March 2021 at 10am at LiveNation.co.uk.

Westlife have been blazing the comeback trail over the past two years with their album Spectrum leaving fans thrilled, however heartbreak struck last year when their one-off Wembley Stadium gig was cancelled due to coronavirus.  

They have brought the goods however with the new announcement that they will hit the stage for a second night in the summer much to fans’ delight. 

Mark told MailOnline: ‘We never would have thought we’d be playing Wembley Stadium after 20 years of Westlife. 

‘Playing one night is amazing but to now be adding an extra night is just phenomenal… This is going to be up there with the greatest experiences of my life…

The news comes after the group signed a new record deal with Warner Music UK label East West Records. Last month, it was revealed that the What About Now hitmakers they had parted ways with EMI over two years after the release Spectrum.

A spokesman for the band said at the time: ‘They’ve agreed a mutual parting of ways with EMI and details of a new and groundbreaking partnership are imminent…

The next 18 months are shaping up to be the band’s busiest, including a new album, sold-out stadium shows — featuring a first show at Wembley Stadium — plus their biggest-ever global tour, which will include their first-ever American shows… 

‘The band are also considering opportunities for a spectacular end-of-year TV show and a documentary special.’

Westlife soared to fame in 1998 when they were formed in Dublin, with the original line-up also featuring Brian McFadden, who later left in 2004. 

The group broke hearts of fans around the globe when they announced plans to disband in 2012 before all embarking on respective solo careers over the years before reuniting in 2019 with their hit Hello My Love.
