Jacqueline Jossa only return to EastEnders if ‘ALL the Brannings came back at same time’

Jacqueline Jossa says she would only return to EastEnders as Lauren if ‘ALL the Brannings came back at the same time’ and were ‘wanted’ by the hit soap

She left EastEnders in 2018 after playing Lauren Branning for eight years.

And Jacqueline Jossa, 28, has now said that she’d only return to the hit soap if ‘all the Brannings came back at the same time’.

However this could prove tricky as not many of the family remain in the square after Lauren’s dad Max [Jake Wood] and mum Tanya [Jo Joyner] both left the show and two of her siblings Abi and Bradley died.

Potential return? Jacqueline Jossa has said that she’d only return to EastEnders if ‘all the Brannings came back at the same time’

According to The Mirror, Jacqueline spoke during an Instagram live this weekend about the possibility of a return to the soap.

She said: ‘The timing would have to be right. It would only happen if all the Brannings came back at the same time.

‘So EastEnders would have to want us all back.’

Jacqueline previously teased a return to the show while appearing on a Halloween special of Celebrity Juice last October.

She told host Keith Lemon: ‘When the time’s right, yes, I think the character needs to be missed before you can come back.’

Jacqueline left EastEnders in 2018 with her character setting up a new life in New Zealand with her son Louie.

Her exit followed the death of younger sister Abi who fell from the Queen Vic on Christmas Day in 2017 and suffered head injuries.

Although many of the Brannings are no longer around – and Max actor Jake Wood recently left – there are still several who could be written back into the story.

Jo Joyner who played mum Tanya previously told the Mirror she’d ‘never say never’ to a return and Lauren’s uncle Jack is still in the soap.

There’s also her younger brother Oscar who could make a reappearance and Abi’s daughter Abi as well as Lauren’s own son Louie.

It comes after Jacqueline revealed her hopes to return to EastEnders in under five years and says her departure from the soap was not a goodbye forever in April.

The actress, who played Lauren for eight years before leaving the BBC One show in 2018, told MailOnline she still loves the character with all her heart.

The mum-of-two said she could ‘hobble back in on my walking stick’ in a reference to Lauren’s fall from the Queen Vic roof during the soap’s 2017 Christmas Day episode.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, Jacqueline said: ‘I absolutely love EastEnders, love the people, the production and I absolutely love Lauren Branning with all my heart.

‘It doesn’t feel like it was a goodbye forever, definitely not, well not from my end anyway. I would love to go back someday.

‘I could hobble back in on my walking stick one day.’

When asked if she would return in under five years, Lauren said: ‘I think that sounds better than me going back tomorrow, yes.’
