Jamie Foxx shoots video in Downtown LA sparking rumors of return to music

Jamie Foxx looks like he’s making a return to music as he shoots a video in Downtown LA… after news he’ll be playing Mike Tyson in a limited series

It’s been six-years since his last album.

But it looks like Jamie Foxx is ready to return to music, seen shooting a music video in Downtown Los Angeles on Monday night.

The Academy Award-winner, 53, appeared in high-spirits during the production, where he was seen hanging out friends and snapping photos with the crew between takes.

Foxx went for a casual but polished look during the shoot, donning a red bomber jacket over a grey hoodie. Despite the fact it was well after sunset, the star donned lightly tinted sunglasses.

After a bit of downtime, the Django Unchained star stepped in front of a green screen for another scene, spreading his arms wide while gazing directly at the camera.

Foxx has yet to reveal any music plans, meaning the project is top-secret for the time-being.

But he has already proven his status as a hit-maker, joining Kanye West as a featured artist on his #1 hits Slow Jamz and Gold Digger. Jamie’s own 2005 album Unpredictable also reached to top of the charts.

And the song Blame It, his 2008 collaboration with T-Pain, even earned him a Grammy for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.

His last single as a lead artist was with 2015’s but he was also featured on the Black Eyed Peas hit Where Is The Love in 2016.

Jamie’s return to music comes right after news he’ll be playing Mike Tyson in an upcoming limited series about the boxer’s life.

The project will reunite Foxx with director Antoine, who he previously worked with on the 2000 action/comedy Bait.

The series, which will be titled Tyson, hasn’t yet been attached to a specific streaming service or network.

Foxx and Tyson will also executive produce alongside Tyson’s wife Kiki.

Tyson, 54, will have direct input on the project, making sure that his story is told in an ‘inspiring’ and ‘entertaining’ way.

‘I have been looking to tell my story for quite some time,’ Tyson said in a statement. ‘With the recent launch of [his sports league in collaboration with Eros Innovations] Legends Only League and the excitement from fans following my return to the ring, now feels like the perfect moment.

‘I look forward to collaborating with Martin, Antoine, Jamie, and the entire creative team to bring audiences a series that not only captures my professional and personal journey but also inspires and entertains.’
