Emily Ratajkowski shares heart-melting snap of breastfeeding ‘Beautiful boy’ Sylvester

Emily Ratajkowski calls Sylvester a ‘beautiful boy’ as she shares breastfeeding snap… after earlier saying she would not know the gender ‘until our child is 18’

Emily Ratajkowski shared a heart-melting Instagram snap this Wednesday of herself breastfeeding her newborn baby.

In her sweet new photograph she could be seen gazing lovingly down at her baby and gushed in her caption that he was a ‘beautiful boy’ after sharing with Vogue when she was still pregnant that she would not know the gender of her child until it was 18.

The 29-year-old supermodel welcomed her firstborn child Sylvester Apollo on March 8 with her husband Sebastian Bear-McClard.

Emily joyously announced Sylvester’s birth on March 11 with an Instagram picture that showed her nursing her baby.

‘Sylvester Apollo Bear has joined us earth side. Sly arrived 3/8/21 on the most surreal, beautiful, and love-filled morning of my life,’ she wrote.

Shortly thereafter she posted a collage that showed her at various moments in labor – as well as after the process was complete and her baby was in her arms.

‘In between pushes/first moments with Sly. Life!’ gushed Emily to her more than 27 million followers on Instagram.

Since the birth she has posted Insta Stories snaps that have showed her astonishingly trim midriff shortly after giving birth.

Earlier this week she and her movie producer husband were seen taking Sylvester out in his stroller for a walk with their beloved dog Colombo.

Emily announced her pregnancy on the cover of Vogue last autumn and wrote an essay inside about why she would not declare the gender.

‘When my husband and I tell friends that I’m pregnant, their first question after: “Congratulations” is almost always: “Do you know what you want?”‘ she said.

‘We like to respond that we won’t know the gender until our child is 18 and that they’ll let us know then,’ she shared, admitting: ‘Everyone laughs at this.’

She added: ‘There is a truth to our line, though, one that hints at possibilities that are much more complex than whatever genitalia our child might be born with: the truth that we ultimately have no idea who – rather than – what is growing inside my belly. Who will this person be?’

The first-time parent explained in the magazine: ‘I like the idea of forcing as few gender stereotypes on my child as possible.’

She confessed: ‘But no matter how progressive I may hope to be, I understand the desire to know the gender of our fetus; it feels like the first real opportunity to glimpse who they might be. As my body changes in bizarre and unfamiliar ways, it’s comforting to obtain any information that might make what’s coming feel more real.’

Sebastian, whose producing credits include Uncut Gems, married Emily at a courthouse wedding in New York in 2018 where she wore a $200 Zara trouser suit.

During her pregnancy the Gone Girl actress had also been working on an upcoming book of essays that currently has the title My Body.
