Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall takes her £3,350 Chanel quilted handbag to Greece

The Duchess of Cornwall recycled her go-to Chanel handbag as she and Prince Charles touched down in Greece on Wednesday – after being spotted carrying it five times in the last six months alone.

Camilla, 73, paired the £3,350 Chanel Coco Top Handle Black in size small, with a blue and white dress by Fiona Clare, as she and the Prince of Wales embarked on their first international trip of the year.

The Duchess teamed her quilted designer accessory, which is emblazoned with the renowned Chanel logo, with a cape by Anna Valentine, and a face mask with Prince of Wales feathers sent to her by a member of the public.

The timeless bag is so popular that second hand versions often cost more than the retail price because the design is usually sold out.

So it’s no surprise to see the bag has become quite the firm favourite for Camilla, with the royal having been spotted carrying it to working engagements dating back to October 2020.

Camilla also opted for the Chanel staple in December last year, when she stopped by the Quadrangle at Windsor Castle to see the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge following their whistle-stop tour of Britain.

William and Kate’s gruelling 1,250-mile trip to offer support to the nation was marred by thinly veiled criticism from Wales and Scotland, despite it clearly falling within the guidelines because the royal couple were working.

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall stood socially distanced nearby, as did William and Kate, the Earl and Countess of Wessex and the Princess Royal with Christmas trees lit with lights nearby, adding to the atmosphere.

A day prior, Camilla made sure she justified the hefty price tag when she clutched the bag again during a visit to Wiltshire.

Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall braved chilly weather as they attended a morning church service at Salisbury Cathedral to mark the 800th anniversary of its foundation in 1220.

Wrapped up in winter coats, the royals appeared to be in good spirits as they received a warm welcome from members of the church.

This time, the Duchess of Cornwall paired the versatile bag with a navy ensemble and stylish hat adorned with faux fur details.

Camilla pinned a light blue floral brooch to the left of her dark blue coat, and wore a dark patterned face covering.

The bag made yet another appearance in November as the Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Charles were officially welcomed by the country’s president Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife Elke Budenbender at Berlin’s Bellevue Palace.

Dressed all in black, Charles wore his military medals while Camilla donned a face mask adorned in poppies.

They then travelled to the New Guardhouse, home to the Neue Wache Central Memorial of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Victims of War and Tyranny to lay wreathes in tribute to the fallen.

The prince and duchess then travelled to the Bundestag for the Central Remembrance Ceremony marking Germany’s National Day of Mourning, where Charles delivered a speech.

The earliest Camilla was seen carrying the same back was back in October during a visit to Maggie’s Barts, where she opted for a green itak print facemask that perfectly matched her emerald dress.

Camilla waved at well-wishers as she arrived at East London hospital St Bartholomew’s to enjoy a tour of the charity’s facilities – and to hear how patients and staff have coped with the pandemic.

In the bright October sunshine, a sizeable crowd – all observing social distancing – took photos of the royal as she arrived.

The Duchess, who has been president of Maggie’s since 2008, looked in high spirits as she made her way into the medical facility, wearing a stylish emerald green pleated dress – to the knee – and accessorising with the matching black leather Chanel handbag.
