Married At First Sight fans complain they are unable to watch the show because 9Now streaming is ‘skipping like a CD from 2001’ – after network cyber attack

Married At First Sight Australia fans struggled to watch the latest episode of the show on Sunday night. 

Several posted their complaints on Twitter, saying that 9Now’s streaming service was glitching and switching off every few minutes.

Another Tweeted: ‘Is anyone else’s 9Now app playing up? Saw the first five minutes of the show and then it abruptly stopped playing’. 

One more added: ‘Nine why is your app playing up tonight trying to watch MAFS and keeps shutting off every ten mins?’ 

Another added: ‘Why does the 9Now app keep glitching during the drama?’ while someone else said: ‘What is going on PLEASE?’

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Channel Nine for further comment. 

It is unclear if the glitch is related to the network’s cyber attack on Sunday, which forced Weekend Today and other live programs off the air.

TV Blackbox published a statement from the network, which was issued to staff at Nine, and media, confirming a cyber attack. 

It read: ‘We wish to inform you there has been a cyber attack on our systems which has disrupted live broadcasts out of Nine Sydney (1 Denison).

‘As a result, we were unable to get Weekend Today to air this morning however, have put several contingencies in place to ensure the NRL and our 6pm bulletins will proceed.

In a statement, Nine representatives said: 'We wish to inform you there has been a cyber-attack on our systems which has disrupted live broadcasts out of Nine Sydney'

‘Our IT teams are working around the clock to fully restore our systems which have primarily affected our Broadcast and Corporate business units. Publishing and Radio systems continue to be operational.

‘While our IT teams work through this issue, we ask that all employees, in all markets, work from home until further notice.’

Nine journalist Alicia Loxley additionally said during a news break, which aired in Melbourne today: ‘Cyber hackers have targeted Channel Nine in a massive ransomware attack bringing down its network Australia-wide. 

‘No-one has claimed responsibility for the bug but IT experts are working to bring systems back on-line.’
