Kerri-Anne Kennerley broke her ankle and collarbone after suffering a fall during a performance of the stage musical Pippin at Sydney’s Lyric Theatre late last year.

On Monday, the 67-year-old revealed the horrific extent of her injuries and details of the surgery she was forced to undergo in January to repair her arm.

‘There’s a 15cm plate with 10 screws or something in it. It is just endless appointments of physio and being back at the gym,’ she told Adelaide Now.

Kerri-Anne, who returned to  the Lyric Theatre to attend the premiere of Hamilton on Saturday, added: ‘I still don’t have full mobility of my left arm but that will come.

‘It has all gone along extremely well compared to the first six weeks where I couldn’t tie my hair back, I couldn’t dry my hair, I couldn’t do anything, it was very annoying. Onward and upward, it is all going to be good.’

The former Studio 10 star was rushed to St Vincent’s Hospital and bowed out of the musical.

Footage obtained by Daily Mail Australia showed the shocking moment the former Studio 10 host dropped to the floor as the audience gasped in horror.

An X-ray also showed the full extent of her injuries, which left her in a ‘significant amount of pain’.

In a statement released by her management at the time, Kerri-Anne confirmed she would no longer be starring in the stage production.

She added: 'The first six weeks where I couldn't tie my hair back, I couldn't dry my hair, I couldn't do anything, it was very annoying. Onward and upward, it is all going to be good.' Pictured during rehearsals with two co-stars and Sunrise weather presenter Sam Mac

‘Good riddance to 2020,’ she said. ‘Pippin has genuinely been one of the great experiences of my life exceeding all my expectations.’

She added that she loved the cast ‘more than ever’, before saying of the accident: ‘What happened is just a random misstep in the trapeze and circus world.

‘I’ve always felt safe in their hands but accidents just happen. I was trained well and loved getting stronger and the routine smoother.

‘I’m devastated that I can’t finish the run. It was just so much fun. I broke my collarbone quite severely and have a slight chip of my ankle bone.’

Kerri-Anne was playing the supporting character Grandma Berthe in Pippin, and her signature song involved climbing atop a 15ft (4.5m) trapeze.
