Kyle and Jackie O producer fears Russia has launched a cyber attack on KIIS FM

The moment a terrified Kyle and Jackie O producer fears Russia has launched a cyber attack on KIIS FM live on air… before the truth is revealed

The Kyle and Jackie O Show was thrown into disarray on Monday morning when a producer announced live on air that Russians had ‘hacked’ the radio station.

KIIS FM staffer Jaimee ‘Mayo’ Hassos was alarmed when she noticed a button on her panel was clicking without her doing anything – sparking fears the network was being targeted by the same foreign agents who disrupted Channel Nine’s Sydney operations on Sunday.

‘Can you hear us?’ she worriedly asked hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson. ‘Our system’s stuffing up here, and I’m worried that…’

‘Oh, my God, we’re getting hacked by Russia like Channel Nine!’ Kyle said.

‘I think we’ve been hacked, as I’m not even clicking the button and it’s…’ Mayo replied, sounding genuinely concerned.

Fortunately, cyber hackers working for the former Soviet Union hadn’t infiltrated KIIS FM’s servers and Kyle was able to solve the issue within seconds.

‘Click your finger off it. You take your finger off it, and it works,’ he said.

The whole studio then burst into laughter upon realising Mayo had just been pressing the wrong button on her panel.

Producer ‘Snappy Tom’ Whitaker said: ‘It was never broken, Mayo!’

‘It was broken but it seems fixed now!’ she responded, a little embarrassed.

Kyle and Jackie O had been speaking about Mayo’s peanut allergy just moments before the ‘hacking’ began.

‘Silly girl,’ Kyle said after the mishap. ‘Peanut allergy – makes them a little soft in the brain as well, I think you’ll find.’

The Nine Network was the target of a cyber attack on its systems on Sunday which affected its live programming out of Sydney.

The Australian broadcaster was unable to air its Weekend Today and Sunday Sport programs as a result of the disruption.

Security experts believe the ‘massive ransomware attack’ was orchestrated by Russia ahead of Monday’s episode of Under Investigation, hosted by Liz Hayes, which is set to expose Russian president Vladimir Putin’s deadly campaign of chemical assassination against his enemies in the West.

TV Blackbox claimed that, ‘Security experts have told the network the attack is likely from Russia due to the sophistication of the hack’, and that those hackers are targeting Under Investigation.

Monday’s episode of the current affairs series, which is hosted by Liz Hayes, seeks to ‘expose Vladimir Putin’s deadly campaign of chemical assassination, being waged against his enemies on the streets of western countries’, according to a description available online.

However, the episode is pre-recorded and will go to air as planned on Monday night.
