Mia Fevola, 21, rejected an offer to appear on Seven’s SAS Australia

Brendan Fevola has revealed his stepdaughter Mia rejected an offer to appear on Channel Seven’s SAS Australia.

The former AFL star-turned-radio host, 40, revealed during an interview with SAS Chief Instructor Ant Middleton on Tuesday that Mia, 21, had turned down the role.

He explained on Fox FM Melbourne‘s Fifi, Fev & Nick show: ‘My daughter was asked to go on this year, but she said no.’

‘She’s physically not strong enough, and she knows that. But she’s trying to build up, to get that physical to be about to do stuff like that,’ he added.

Brendan joked that he’d encouraged Mia to sign up for the program anyway just for the money, then throw in the towel on episode one.

‘I said just take the cash and get voted off first, who cares! Just hand your number in. That was my dad advice,’ he said, as former British soldier Ant laughed.

Later in the chat, Ant said: ‘If you come on there and don’t show the characteristics and attributes that we’re looking for, which is physical and mental resilience.

‘This isn’t a “let’s see how far you get,” I’m going to get rid of you straight away.’

Earlier this month, Brendan furiously defended Mia after she was subjected to misogynistic abuse on social media.

He said it hurt him deeply to read what trolls were saying about his daughter, who had just gone public with her relationship with rising AFL star Jamarra Ugle-Hagan.

Brendan later pointed out the trolls’ sexist double standards, saying: ‘Blokes can do whatever they want. They can date girls and no one judges them. It’s a lad thing.’

He added: ‘As soon as she goes out and does something like that and posts a picture, you get idiots behind a keyboard – mostly men – hammering her.’

‘When we were 21, we were doing whatever we wanted. He’s a great kid, she’s a great girl, she’s smart, she’s got her own business, she studies, she’s got a degree, she can do what she wants.

‘It just pisses me off that people can write that and say vile things online about any girl, not just Mia.’
