Reality golfing show Holey Moley is set to return for season two despite lacklustre ratings for Channel Seven

Holey Moley is set to return to Channel Seven next year.

Despite lackluster ratings for the bizarre mini-golf reality series, it appears viewers will get to see a more scaled-down season two.

Seven’s chief revenue officer Kurt Burnette indicated the show would return while speaking to the Australian Financial Review this week.

Round two: Reality golfing show Holey Moley is set to return for season two despite lacklustre ratings for Channel Seven, according to a report in The Australian Financial Review

‘We wanted Holey Moley to come in and do a job which was give us growth year-on-year on the timeslot against My Kitchen Rules, it did,’ he said.

Kurt didn’t explicitly mention bad ratings, however, he did indicate the show didn’t perform as well as the network had hoped.

He continued: ‘Was it to the levels we had expected and hoped? No. Did it do the job we wanted it to as a minimum? Yes it did.

‘The sponsors and partners that were on board… we made sure they met their objectives on the way through. In that respect, it was ok.’

The finale of the quirky series drew in just 491,000 viewers.

The new season of the show is expected to air one night per week.
