Jordan Fisher joins The CW’s The Flash as Bart Allen, a.k.a. Impulse

The CW’s hit series The Flash will be heading into the future, with actor/singer/dancer Jordan Fisher signing on for a speedy new role.

The 26-year-old actor has signed on to play Bart Allen, a.k.a. Impulse, the future grandson of Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Iris West (Candice Patton), via Deadline.

Fisher will recur as Bart Allen, dubbed the ‘fastest teenager on the planet,’ with his debut coming in this current season’s 17th episode, which is also its 150th episode.

The character description reveals Bart has a, ‘penchant for wildly impulsive behavior.’

This leaves his ‘stunned parents’ Barry and Iris with their hands full trying to teach their new son patience. 

‘But it’s a task they’ll have to accomplish, in order for their family to work together and stop Team Flash’s biggest threat yet!’ the cryptic description concludes/.

This isn’t the first time Barry and Iris have met one of their children from the future, which also coincided with another milestone episode.

During Season 5, Barry and Iris met their future daughter, Nora, a.k.a. XS (Jessica Parker Kennedy).

She traveled back in time to help her parents deal with that season’s villain, Cicada, a.k.a. the first Eobard Thawne.

Nora debuted in the Season 5 premiere and had a pivotal part to play in the show’s 100th episode that season, before she died at the end of the season.

While no plot specifics were given for Bart Allen’s arc on The Flash, Fisher himself responded to the casting news with a tweet to his 492K followers. 

‘HOLY – thank you all for the love today! They’ve got some pretty sweet plans for Bart/Impulse. Can’t wait to meet the cast and start this race! *slaps knee*’ Fisher joked.

Fisher is certainly a man of many talents, performing as an actor, singer, video game streamer, songwriter and more.

He portrayed John Laurens/Philip Hamilton in the Broadway smash hit Hamilton from 2016 to 2017, and took over the title character in Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway in 2020.

He won Season 25 of Dancing With the Stars in 2017 with pro partner Lindsay Arnold and starred in Netflix’s To All The Boys: I Love You and Work It last year.
