Jennifer Aniston’s Dumplin’ co-star Danielle Macdonald starts filming Jamie Dornan’s new Stan series The Tourist in Adelaide

She made her name in Hollywood with breakout roles in Patti Cake$ and Dumplin’.

But Danielle Macdonald was spotted on home turf on Monday, with the Australian actress out and about on the Adelaide set of her new TV series The Tourist.

The Stan series co-stars Fifty Shades of Grey star Jamie Dornan and The Matrix star Hugo Weaving.

Macdonald was dressed casually in jeans, Chelsea boots and a flannelette shirt. 

He wavy blonde tresses were worn loose and she walked around with a water bottle, her mobile phone and her script pages for the day.

Several extras were also seen on set, dressed in law enforcement outfits milled about the Adelaide location.

In the thriller series, Dornan, 38, will play a British man who finds himself stuck in the Australian Outback.

His character is injured in a hospital and unaware of his identity. He returns to the outback to find answers about his past.

‘The Tourist are some of the most exciting scripts I’ve ever read. I can’t wait to go to Australia with such a talented group of people,’ Jaime said.

The six-part thriller series, will also star some of Australia’s biggest names including Hugo Weaving. 

Hugo is best known for his roles in The Matrix trilogy and Priscilla Queen of The Desert.

The actor revealed he is looking forward to filming, saying: ‘This is a totally unique project and should be an unforgettable ride and shoot for us all’.

Shalom Brune-Franklin, who has starred in Channel Nine’s Doctor Doctor and Bad Mothers, is also gearing up to bring the series and her character Luci, to life.

‘This story is really unique and I’m excited to be part of bringing it to life with this brilliant team,’ she said.

‘It’s very exciting to be working on such a great project in Australia – it’s going to be a lot of fun,’ Shalom added.

South Australia has recently become a hot spot for exciting new local productions, with Stan Original film Gold starring Zac Efron, recently filmed there.
