Emma Stone ‘excited about being a mom’ after quietly welcoming baby girl with husband Dave McCrary

Emma Stone recently became a first time mom with the birth of her baby girl.

The 32-year-old Oscar winner is reportedly embracing motherhood and ‘has been very excited about the baby’, according to sources who spoke with People Magazine.

Insiders added that Emma and her husband Dave McCary, who are a notoriously private couple, ‘have a great marriage’ since tying the knot in 2020.

‘Emma and Dave have a great marriage and both wanted a child,’ a source told People. ‘They are a very grounded and private couple and were ready for a family.’ 

They added: ‘Emma is close to her family and good friends but not the type to flaunt her personal life. Dave respects that about her and is the same way. They have a great life together and support each other.’

The couple reportedly gave birth in the Los Angeles area on March 20th.  

‘Emma has been very excited about the baby,’ another source said of the actress. ‘She has been private but said that she was feeling great. She always has a huge smile when she is with Dave.’

The couple are yet to reveal the name of their first-born.     

Emma’s pregnancy was confirmed back in January when a source told E! News: ‘Emma is pregnant and just loves married life!’

The film star was pictured cradling her large bump during an outing with a friend on December 30, although she made no comment on the news at the time.

Emma and her comedian, writer, and director husband Dave, 35, first began dating in 2017 after meeting on the set of Saturday Night Live where he works as a segment director.

The couple confirmed their engagement in December 2019 when Dave shared a photo of the pair to Instagram with Emma showing off her ring. 

Last May rumors first flew that Emma had secretly gotten married to McCary when she sported a wedding band during a YouTube appearance with Reese Witherspoon.

Their marriage was confirmed by People in September, two weeks after they were spotted wearing matching wedding bands on an outing in Los Angeles.

They were reportedly supposed to have their wedding in mid-March, but had to call it off due to the coronavirus pandemic.   

Meanwhile, Emma recently hit back at claims her forthcoming villain origin story film Cruella shares similarities with The Joker.

When the trailer for the Disney film came out in February, some viewers appeared to take issue with the likenesses between the wicked depiction of Cruella de Vil and the 2019 origin story of Joker, starring Joaquin Phoenix in the lead role.

However, the actress, told Total Film on Tuesday that she’d ‘never event remotely’ compare herself to the Gladiator star, 46, as she joked she wished she could be ‘more like him’.
