Millie Bobby Brown’s Godzilla vs. Kong co-star Brian Tyree Henry has hilariously claimed that the actress likes to ‘bark’ on set to get ‘energy’ before filming.

The Stranger Things star, 17, stars as Madison Russell in the movie while the Atlanta actor, 39, plays Bernie Hayes.

Brian spoke about the fun he had with his co-stars on set with the cast ‘singing their hearts out’ where he also hilarious talked about Millie’s ‘barking’.

Speaking to Metro, the actor said: ‘Here’s the thing, Millie is so in the moment, and Millie is also a great singer. She likes to sing, so she’ll sing all the time. Julian [Dennison] and I were like, “While we’re here, we might as well provide backup”.’

He added: ‘So we, in between takes, would literally sing our hearts out. It was a lot of fun. She also likes to bark. I don’t know if that was like a moment for her, like a period of a time where she was just into barking.

‘But she would just bark like before a take, if she needed energy, she would just go, “woof, woof, woof, woof”. I’ve seen a lot worse from actors.’

Godzilla vs. Kong, which will be available to rent from streaming services later this week, is predicted to be the biggest box office opening since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As well as Millie and Brian, other stars in the film include the likes of Alexander Skarsgård, Kyle Chandler and Eiza González.

It had originally been slated as a summer blockbuster last year but it’s opening was delayed due to the coronavirus.

Godzilla Vs. Kong was first confirmed in 2015 along with the creation of Warner Bros.’ ‘Monsterverse,’ which would unite giants from film history under one franchise.

A writer’s room was assembled in 2017, weaving the stories of the two titans together to serve as a sequel to both Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Kong: Skull Island.

Filming began in 2018 and continued for an extended period of time, with production wrapping in the spring of the following year.

The film originally planned for a May 2020 premiere, but it ultimately suffered several delays before settling on 2021.

It comes after Millie promised to fight ‘stigmas and stereotypes’ after a successful night at the Kids’ Choice Awards earlier this month.

The 17-year-old actress – who plays Eleven in the hit Netflix series Stranger Things – made a powerful speech during the Nickelodeon awards ceremony, when she won the Favourite Female TV Star and Favourite Movie Actress gongs.

She promised to be the voice of millions of children who haven’t been heard while reflecting on her own challenges and victories.
