Australia’s Cameo Rich List REVEALED

Australian celebrities have been earning thousands by filming personal messages for their fans on a website called Cameo.

While superfans have often spent big on meet and greets with A-listers in the past, it appears a new wave of online speciality content is being cashed in on by famous and not-so-famous faces.

Among the local stars earning a fortune by selling personal ‘shout outs’ for fans and their friends are reality TV stars, drag queens, actors, and YouTubers. 

Selling videos for as little as $45, you might be surprised who tops Daily Mail Australia’s Top 10 Cameo Rich List.

Chicago-based company Cameo, which this week was valued at $1 billion, has steadily grown its celebrity presence and fans have surely been quick to follow.

Below is a look at some of the Australian stars helping to drive the Cameo craze, while earning big bucks in the process.

The following estimates are formed based on the celebrity’s going rate and the number of reviews. Celebrities may have made more videos, but received less reviews on the platform.

1. Youtube star Ozzy Man Reviews

Estimated earnings: $62,100  

Ozzy Man Reviews has a large following on Facebook (11 million followers) and YouTube (4.7 million subscribers) for his comedic commentary of viral clips.   

Perth man Ethan Marrell, 34, who is a former stand-up comedian and filmmaker, is behind the massively popular Ozzy Man persona.

The videos are a parody of what a typical Australian bogan with a fondness for foul language would react to a wide range of footage.

2.  Reality TV star Hannah Ferrier

Hannah Ferrier is best known for her appearance on Bravo’s Below Deck Mediterranean, a series she was on for five seasons between 2016 and 2020.

The 33-year-old now resides in Sydney with her partner Josh Roberts and their five- month-old daughter Ava Grace.

Her baby joy came after she was fired as chief stewardess on Below Deck for having undeclared Valium onboard the yacht.

He first rose to fame as the radio presenter for The Hot Hits Live from LA and has since risen found a fresh following as a stand-up comedian and social media star.

His Youtube channel’s videos have been viewed more than 92 million views and his Instagram account currently has 504k followers.

 5. Actress Emilie de Ravin

Australian actress Emilie de Ravin ,39, is best known for her roles on Roswell, Once Upon A Time and Lost.

While Emilie’s earnings place her in the top five of Australian Cameo stars, she states that her funds raised by fans go towards a charity.

Melbourne drag queen Art Simone is the current reigning ‘Queen of Australia’ and has played roles in Australian feature films, theatrical shows, television programmes, and commercials, as well as being awarded Drag Performer of the Year for the last two years running   

Art also made a surprise appearance during Bachelor Matt Agnew’s 2019 season to host an artistic group date.

They also travelled to Los Angeles and New York last year, representing Australia in the world’s largest drag convention, RuPaul’s DragCon. 

Art is due to compete on Stan Original series RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under.

Tia-Clair Toomey, 27, is an Australian weightlifter and CrossFit Games athlete. 

She won the gold medal in the women’s 58 kg event at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast.

Other honourable mentions go to reality TV stars, sporting greats, singers and chefs.

Troy Delmege, Married At First Sight’s goofy groom from the 2018 season, is estimated to have earned at least $8,070 from fan videos, while Netflix’s Too Hot To Handle heartthrob Harry Jowsey has made $7,800.

Retired football players Billy Brownless and Robert ‘Dipper’ DiPierdomenico have pocketed $6,900 and $7,200 respectively, while singer Shannon Noll has scored $6,100 and pâtissier and television presenter Adriano Zumbo has earned $6,200. 

Elsewhere, actress and singer Natalie Bassingthwaighte charges over $500 for a video, while Kyle Sandilands’ asking rate is $1,000.

Daily Mail Australia requested definitive figures for a top 10 from Cameo, but did not hear back from the company. 

The Office star Brian Baumgartener and comedian Gilbert Gottfried are among the top earners in the United States, according to estimates recently compiled by Broadband Choices. 

Actor Michael Rapaport last year became the most successful celebrity to record custom content on Cameo.

The War at Home star received a staggering 1,176 reviews as of July last year and at a cost of $216 a video, raked in at least $254,000.
