Married At First Sight fans cry foul over Bryce Ruthven’s claim that he’s ‘falling in love’ with Melissa Rawson after she finally stood up to him

On Monday’s episode of Married At First Sight Australia, Bryce Ruthven told bride Melissa Rawson he was falling for her.

The admission came after Melissa, 31, finally stood up to her groom, 30, telling him she had ‘very little hope’ the relationship would last in the outside world.

‘We are a sinking ship at this point,’ she said, with Bryce admitting they were like the ‘Titanic’.

Sincere? On Monday’s episode of Married At First Sight Australia, Bryce Ruthven told bride Melissa Rawson he was falling for her. Both pictured

However moments later, he insisted that he was in fact in love with Melissa – something he’d failed to tell her in private.

‘I felt that click in the weekend. I feel like I was able to be myself around her, outside of the group. I’m basically at a point where I am falling in love with Melissa,’ he said.

Melissa looked stunned but delighted, admitting to the experts, ‘This was the first I’ve heard of it.’

Bryce replied dryly:  ‘I wanted to save it for a special occasion [like] with you guys [the experts].’

The other contestants appeared horrified, and fans at home weren’t buying it, either.

One person Tweeted: ”I have never been more convinced of how manipulative and psychotic Bryce is after he just sat on this couch and told her he’s falling in love with her after she had finally stood up to him’.

Another wrote: ‘Bryce is weaponising his ‘love’ for Melissa in exchange for her devoted loyalty and alienating her from all other social supports’.

Someone else added: ‘Melissa and Bryce staying together!? Either they’re both crazy or Australia is being manipulated in the editing process. What we see on screen is a disastrous toxic relationship. Someone is being lied to. Hmm.’

One more wondered: ‘If Bryce and Melissa were having such an awful time, but were madly in love, why wouldn’t they just agree to ‘Leave’ and then be together on the outside? None of this makes sense?’

Another angry punter Tweeted: ‘Bryce: continues to deny his toxic behavioral patterns. Says I love you. The experts: “I commend you Melissa”. Shut the f**k up you absolute fucking t**ts.’
