Well-wishers have raised more than £14,000 to support the grieving teenage parents of a two-week-old boy who was killed his pram was hit by a BMW.

James Paul Davis, 34, is set to appear in court today for the first time accused of causing death by dangerous driving and causing death by driving while uninsured after Ciaran Leigh Morris died following a collision involving a car in Walsall.

He has been remanded in police custody ahead of his appearance at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court sometime after 10am this morning.

A crowdfunding campaign launched in memory of Ciaran has been inundated with messages of condolence from people.

Thousands of JustGiving donors have also raised more than £14,000 in memory of the tot and to support his grieving family.

A statement from West Midlands Police released yesterday said: ‘A man has been charged in connection with a crash that killed a two-week-old baby boy in Brownhills yesterday afternoon (April 4).

‘Ciaran Leigh Morris was being pushed along the pavement by family at the time and suffered serious injuries. He was rushed to hospital but nothing could be done to save him.

Friends of devastated parents Camaron Morris and Codie Holyman, both 18, said the pair were ‘numb with grief’ at the loss of their son during what they called ‘maybe the first time’ they had taken Ciaran out together.

In an emotional statement released yesterday, the parents said: ‘Mommy’s and Daddy’s hearts will always ache, we love you more than anything. We didn’t get to keep you for long but we are happy we had the chance to meet you, look after you and call you our son. Fly high angel.’

They had both visited the scene of a crash to see the mass of tributes placed there throughout Monday.

Well-wishers raise £14,000 for teenage parents of baby killed in pram tragedy

More than £14,000 has been raised by thousands of well-wishers for the heart-broken family.

A crowdfunding campaign was launched by Karl Roberts in memory of Ciaran Leigh Morris and to support his grieving family.

The JustGiving page read: ‘On the 4th of April, a traffic collision occurred on Brownhills high street that resulted in the loss of life of a two week old baby.

‘We are trying to raise funds to support the family at this very difficult time.’

In an emotional statement released yesterday, parents Camaron Morris, 18, and Codie Holyman, also 18, paid tribute to their newborn son Ciaran Leigh Morris.

They said: ‘Mommy’s and Daddy’s hearts will always ache, we love you more than anything.

‘We didn’t get to keep you for long but we are happy we had the chance to meet you, look after you and call you our son. Fly high angel.’

The JustGiving page set up after the tragedy raised more than £2,000 within hours of being created.

The crowdfunder has also been inundated with messages of condolence for the grieving family.

One person wrote: ‘As a mother this has made me feel sick. What those poor, poor parents must be feeling is just indescribable. Fly high beautiful boy. The angels will keep you safe now.’

Another donor added: ‘No words will comfort you but know that hundreds of people are mourning with you.’

The crowdfunding page has now raised more than £14,500.  You can donate by clicking here.

Camaron and Codie were supported by family and friends as they crouched down to read the many messages and tributes during their visit to the scene 24 hours after the tragedy happened.

Heartbreaking pictures of them show how proud they were of the little boy as they cradled him after their birth.

The couple are thought to have been together for at least two years and had been excited about Ciaran being born. It is understood that Camaron works at a McDonald’s restaurant while Codie has been a barmaid at a local pub and previously studied at Walsall College.

The teenage couple spent more than an hour at the scene reading the cards and viewing the dozens of floral tributes left by wellwishers.

Camaron and Codie both wore black and held hands as they clutched Ciaran’s favourite cuddly toys. The couple left a card at the scene which read: ‘To my baby boy. Ciaran Leigh Morris.

‘Thinking of you always and forever. Always be happy. Mommy and Daddy love you so much our perfect boy. Fly high Ciaran, you didn’t deserve this. Wish we could bring you home to us.

‘Sleep tight, rest easy our baby boy. Love Mommy and Daddy.’

Police believe the tragedy happened after the BMW1 Series crashed into a Ford B-Max before ploughing onto the pavement and pinning the mother and baby against a wall.

The owner of the white BMW has not paid road tax since October 22, according to DVLA records seen by MailOnline. It has got an up-to-date MOT.

Ciaran’s great aunt Lisa Forde, 58, from Brownhills, West Midlands, said: ‘I’m Ciaran’s great auntie on his dad’s side. It’s just heartbreaking. I don’t think there’s anything else I can say.’

Friends of the parents who were laying flowers at the scene yesterday told MailOnline they were ‘numb with grief’ at the loss of their son – which they said happened on ‘maybe the first time’ they had taken the baby out together.

Many of their Facebook friends changed their profile pictures to a blue heart picture with the message ‘RIP little man’ in Ciaran’s memory.

A man who was in tears as he laid a floral tribute said: ‘Yes I know the family and all I can say is they are numb with grief. It was maybe the first time they had taken the baby out together and this happens.

 ‘To my baby boy.

‘Ciaran Leigh Morris. Thinking of you always and forever.

‘Always be happy.

‘Mommy and Daddy love you so much our perfect boy. Fly high Ciaran, you didn’t deserve this. Wish we could bring you home to us.

‘Sleep tight, rest easy our baby boy. Love Mommy and Daddy.’

‘It’s an unimaginable horror they are going through. One second and the most precious thing in their lives is gone.’

Another man, who came to lay flowers, added: ‘It’s just awful. I know the family very well and they are a really, really nice family. My best mate is part of the family and I know the baby’s mum and uncle.’

Another woman who came to lay flowers said: ‘I didn’t know them personally but knew of them. They were really great parents and he was a sweet baby.’

Police stood guard at the scene of the tragedy which happened at around 4pm on Easter Sunday.

The metal shutter of the shop where the crash happened was twisted and buckled and bricks remained strewn across the path.

Stuart Evans, 52, a builder from Pelsall, West Midlands, laid flowers on the pavement.

He said: ‘I read about what happened on Facebook and just felt I wanted to pay my respects. I’ve got eight grandchildren myself and you can’t imagine how you’d feel in the family’s predicament.

‘It’s such a tragedy and terrible for the family. It’s heartbreaking to think what they are going through.’

Sergeant Mark Crozier, from the collision investigation unit, said yesterday: ‘A baby has tragically died and we’ll be doing all we can to support his family during this deeply devastating time.
