Cruella trailer: Emma Stone steals her evil mentor’s dalmatians in new extended Disney preview

Emma Stone’s beginnings as Disney villainess Cruella de Vil has been further explored in the new extended trailer for her upcoming movie, Cruella.

The actress, 32, is seen going from a belittled servant for fashion maven Baroness von Hellman (Emma Thompson) to a vengeful vixen as she steals her employer’s beloved dalmatians after embracing a cold-hearted approached to life.

In the origin story, the very woman she hurts is the one teaching her to become heartless, as she tells a young Cruella: ‘Let me give you some advice. You can’t care about anyone else. Everyone else is an obstacle.

‘You care what an obstacle wants or feels you’re dead. If I’d cared about anyone or thing, I might have died. You have the talent, whether you have the killer instinct is the big question.’

Speaking in the voiceover as Cruella, Stone says of the Baroness: ‘She thought she owned everyone, but there’s something about poetic justice that’s just so poetic.’

The chic antihero crashes her mentor’s red carpet on the back of a Vespa, concealing her true identity as she emerges in a white robe.

After asking someone for a light, she drops the burning match on her robe, which vanishes to unveil her red gown and signature two-tone black and white hair.

‘Get her,’ the Baroness orders, prompting a burly bodyguard to barrel toward Cruella as he warns her: ‘This doesn’t have to be a scene.’

‘It really, really does,’ Cruella purrs in response, before knocking the man over with her long black cane and quips: ‘I’d like to remind you all that I’m doing this in heels!’

And as Baroness von Hellman watches this bold new character unravel the world that had previously appeared to serve her so well, she’s dealt one big final blow.

As a number of dalmatians are seen being loaded into the back of a large van, the Baroness bellows in shock: ‘She has stolen my dogs!’

Proud of her cruel act, Cruella is seen callously cackling away as she rides off into the distance after wreaking havoc.

‘Don’t worry, there’s lots more bad things coming,’ says Cruella in the voiceover.

A preview for the film was aired during last month’s 63rd Grammy Awards, showing Cruella finding her ‘killer instinct’ as she serves some iconic punk fashion moments.
