Freddie Flintoff reveals he and his A League Of Their Own co-stars drank water from a SOCK

Freddie Flintoff revealed he and his A League Of Their Own co-stars drank water from a sock during their new show Road Trip: Loch Ness To London.

The Top Gear host, 43, appeared on Thursday’s edition of Lorraine alongside Jamie Redknapp, where he detailed how they only realised after drinking the water that Jack Whitehall had relieved himself further upstream.

Sharing a clip of him, Jamie, Jack and Romesh Ranganathan drinking the water after being told to do so by former SAS soldiers, he told guest host Cat Deeley: ‘It was awful!’

Shock: Freddie Flintoff revealed on Thursday’s Lorraine that he and his A League Of Their Own co-stars drank water from a SOCK only to realise Jack Whitehall had relieved himself upstream

‘But just out of shot later on, Jack was having a pee up the stream so it was coming down into me sock, so I went on my own DNA journey with Jack didn’t I?’

In the video clip, it was revealed that former marine commando Jason Fox and adventurer Aldo Kane had told them to drink from the sock as a joke, just to see if they would do it.

The programme sees the quartet traverse the Scottish Highlands together and take part in a series of gruelling tasks set for them by the two former SAS soldiers with them.

Discussing filming the show, Jamie went on: ‘Beautiful Fred, wasn’t it? And it was a stunning part of the world.

‘I think we pretty much realised within ten minutes we wouldn’t be any good in the army, SAS or marines… we got the best of having Jack back with us, it was good having Romesh there too.’

Agreeing with Jamie, Freddie went on: ‘It was so much fun to get out of the house and get out and do something.’

Jamie and Freddie recently appeared on DNA Journey together, where the former discovered his ancestor stole £2.5 million in one of the biggest robberies to ever take place in the UK.

The former professional footballer learned of his family history during an appearance on DNA Journey alongside Freddie Flintoff on Wednesday.

William, who is Jamie’s 2nd cousin six times removed, was born in 1803 and worked as a customs officer, a role that gave him the opportunity to have a side-hustle, being the go-between for his work colleagues and a money lender.

Jamie learned his ancestor helped put money away for his friends, but was using the scheme for his own benefit as he stole £15,000 from the Bank of England in Liverpool on pay day, the equivalent to £2.5 million nowadays.

The TV personality was informed William’s crime was so notorious, news of it travelled to the USA and India at the time.

Shocked by the discovery, Jamie quipped: ‘William, that’s my son’s middle name, I might have to change that.’

When they were told they had to wait to find out what happened to William, Freddie asked where Jamie would ‘have liked him to have gone’, and he simply said: ‘Prison.’

Later in the show, Jamie discovered what happened to William, and was informed by a genealogist that he took his family to Croydon after the crime to send a letter with a postmark from the town to throw off the scent.

When police discovered the letter he was already in Southampton and had gone to the Channel Islands, but returned to London years later to attend his daughter Rebecca’s wedding.

The genealogist claimed William was ‘hiding in plain sight’ as he was a witness at his daughter’s wedding but there was no record of him ever being caught.

Still shocked by the news, Jamie said: ‘You can choose your friends, but you can’t choose your family.’
