‘This is the problem with romanticising “all consuming” love. Melissa said she wanted a love that was “all consuming”. No one should want that. Love should not be all  consuming. You should not be consumed by one other person,’ she began.

‘You shouldn’t feel like the emotions you share with that person are so overwhelming you could literally be swallowed up by them. That is not healthy. It is not okay. It’s not how a positive and healthy relationship works.’

Clementine continued: ‘Bryce has played on that with her. He’s played on the idea that intensity equals quality of love and it doesn’t. And that’s how people like Bryce trap people like Melissa by making out it’s them against the world.’

Reaction: After watching the scene, Clementine said: 'This is the problem with romanticising "all consuming" love. Melissa said she wanted a love that was "all consuming". No one should want that. Love should not be all consuming'

Melissa replied that she had to be ‘completely and brutally honest’ and admitted rumours that Bryce had a secret girlfriend in Canberra had shaken her trust.

‘I can absolutely say with certainty that I’m in love with you. Our relationship and you are truly worth fighting for.’
