Canberra Hit104.7’s ratings fall after MAFS star Bryce Ruthven’s exit

Married At First Sight’s ‘most hated groom’ Bryce Ruthven has the last laugh as ratings plummet for his old Canberra radio station following his departure

Ratings have plummeted for the Canberra radio station where controversial Married At First Sight star Bryce Ruthven used to work.

Hit Network’s 104.7 has lost its No. 1 position following the 32-year-old’s groom’s departure several months ago.

The station has fallen from a 20 per cent market share in the region to 11 per cent, a drop of 9.0 share points overall, reports Radio Today.

On no: Ratings the Canberra radio station Bryce Ruthven (pictured), 31, used to work for have plummeted. Hit Network’s 104.7 has lost its place as number one following his departure for the Channel Nine dating series

Bryce used to work afternoons and weekends for Hit104.7, but quit late last year so he could move to Melbourne.

He is now living in the Victorian capital with his on-screen wife Melissa Rawson.

While it’s unclear if Bryce’s absence from the airwaves led to the decline in listeners, he will certainly be holding this fact dear as he prepares to relaunch his career.

Bryce is hoping to return to broadcasting following his divisive portrayal on Married At First Sight, and already has some high-profile backers in the industry.

He recently struck up a friendship with Kyle Sandilands, the host of Sydney’s most popular FM breakfast show on KIIS 106.5.

Kyle, 49, has even described Bryce on air as a younger version of himself.

Bryce’s last regular radio job was hosting the afternoon shifts and weekend breakfast for Hit104.7 with Ellie Mobbs and Jason Roses.

Funnily enough, Jason ended up having a pivotal role towards the end of MAFS when he spilled Bryce’s secret about having a ‘secret girlfriend’ outside the show.

Before moving to Canberra, Bryce had been the studio producer for WSFM’s Jonesy and Amanda for less than a year.

Details: The drop is ratings follows Bryce leaving the station to be on Married At First Sight, which he has since come under a lot of scrutiny for because of his behaviour
