Peak hour chaos on a major freeway after a truck caught fire – with huge queues of traffic already building

  • Huge truck fire in Melbourne’s east has caused chaos during peak hour
  • Vehicle burst into flams on Thursday morning on the Monash Freeway

A huge truck fire has caused chaos during peak hour in Melbourne‘s east, with queues of traffic quickly building.

Two left lanes of the Monash Freeway have been blocked off near Toorak Road on Thursday morning.

Emergency crews are on the scene as huge queues of traffic bring cars to a standstill.

Victoria Traffic are advising motorists to use Dandenong Road instead of the freeway and prepare for lengthy delays.

The incident comes a day after a truck transporting toilet paper caught fire on Melbourne’s Western Freeway.

Fire crews battled the blaze engulfing two semi-trailers early on Wednesday morning after being called to the road near Hopetoun Park.

The inferno resulted in all Melbourne-bound lanes being closed, again causing peakhour traffic chaos.
