Inter Milan have officially won the Serie A title for the first time in over a decade after Atalanta drew 1-1 with Saussuolo on Sunday.
Antonio Conte‘s side beat Crotone on Saturday to allow them to grasp the trophy – which they last won in 2010 – with one hand.
However, it was Sunday’s result that saw them become the Serie A champions for the first time in 11 years.
Inter closed in the on title during their game against Crotone after Christian Eriksen and Achraf Hakimi provided second-half goals.
However, second-placed Atalanta – who are 11 points off top spot – failed to claim three points against Sassuolo on Sunday allowing Inter to lift their 19th Serie A crown with four games to go.
Inter will be thrilled to pick up the trophy, having finished one point behind Juventus last year and having also lost the Europa League final in 2020.
As for Conte, the result represents another title triumph – having previously led Juventus to three consecutive Serie A titles between 2012 and 2014.
