The Sun have now reported that Mayweather is in talks to fight Saunders, should he also defeat Alvarez.

Mayweather is eyeing up future fights following his exhibition bout with Youtuber-turned-boxer Logan Paul on June 6 in Miami.

The report adds that Mayweather is keen to fight Saunders and also considers Logan’s younger brother Jake as well as Conor McGregor as other potential future fights.

Mayweather has not fought professionally since his victory over UFC superstar McGregor via technical knock-out in August 2017.

The American meanwhile had a heated encounter with Jake Paul during a pre-match press conference ahead of his fight with Logan Paul.

Logan’s younger brother opted to get one over on the boxing icon by pulling the cap from Mayweather’s head before turning to run away. He could be heard repeatedly taunting ‘got your hat, got your hat,’ sending Mayweather spinning into a rage.

Bedlam soon broke out, with both the Mayweather camp and the opposing camp of the Paul brothers camp coming to blows and being separated by security.

Logan Paul was seen diving in to pull his brother away, after the youngster appeared to be bundled to the floor by part of Mayweather’s entourage.

Mayweather himself was held back by large security guards, further heightening his fury and the chaos continued to erupt.

The Canelo-Saunders fight will see the Brit put his WBO title on the line against his opponent’s WBA (Super), WBC and The Ring titles in front of over 60,000 fans at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
