Bachelor In Paradise vets Astrid Loch and Kevin Wendt are expecting their first child together.

The reality star, 28, announced her pregnancy on Mother’s Day in a heart-felt Instagram post detailing her fertility struggles.

Loche and her fiance couldn’t have looked any happier in the picture she shared, which captured the proud parents-to-be posing by the lake with their baby’s ultrasound.

Future parents: Bachelor In Paradise’s Astrid Loch and her fiance, Kevin Wendt, announced that they were expecting a child in a post made to her Instagram account on Sunday morning

Loch began her message by writing, ‘A dream come true. One of the first conversations @kevin.c.wendt and I had was about how we both loved kids and couldn’t wait to have our own.’

She also expressed enthusiasm for seeing her 34-year-old fiance with their soon-to-arrive child and noted that her excitement was near-indescribable.

‘When I think about Kev holding our little angel for the first time my heart flutters. Even in my wildest dreams I couldn’t have imagined how amazing this would all feel,’ she wrote.

Loch also discussed her fertility struggles in the message, as the couple turned to in-vitro fertilization procedures to foster her pregnancy.

She wrote, ‘To all the couples trying to get pregnant, my heart is with you. We know first hand how hard it can be to see these kinds of posts and feel sad & discouraged.

‘We too struggled with fertility and conceiving naturally – it’s the toughest thing we’ve ever been through and I can’t wait to share more of how we got here, she added.

Loch concluded her message by inviting her followers to celebrate with her, writing: ‘today is finally about some good news & we hope you can enjoy it with us.’

She also shared a video of an ultrasound to her Instagram Story later in the day.

Although the two split up during the filming of Bachelor In Paradise, they later revealed that they had reunited and were in a relationship at the season five reunion special.

Wendt previously appeared on both The Bachelorette Canada and The Bachelor Winter Games, while his now-fiance was featured on the 21st season of The Bachelor.

After several months of dating, Loch moved to the Great White North to be with her partner in October of 2018.

The two went on to become engaged in August of 2019 and were set to marry the following July, although they ultimately postponed their nuptials until November of this year as a result of the global pandemic.

The couple recently spoke to People and discussed the difficulties that they experienced while attempting to conceive their child.

‘We spent a lot of nights in tears because we just didn’t understand why it wasn’t working for us. Growing up, you’re always taught to not get pregnant and it always seems so easy on TV to get pregnant…it’s actually really tricky,’ Loch said.

She also noted that many other prospective parents were undergoing the same issues that she and Wendt did.

The reality television personality remarked, ‘because it’s such a private thing, a lot of times you don’t know the struggles that couples are actually going through trying to get pregnant.’

Loch also expressed that although she and her fiance were disheartened with their situation at first, they eventually came to the realization that it would be better for them to maintain a positive outlook on their future.

‘I think throughout every single thing, if we’d see a negative pregnancy test or something wasn’t working out right or whatever, we really were good at not trying to, like, simmer in it for too long,’ she said.

Wendt presented a much more optimistic viewpoint and noted that he and his partner were ‘getting really excited daily. I think everything’s just lighter around here.’
