Mike Tyson tips Logan Paul to ‘get beat up pretty bad’ by Floyd Mayweather when YouTuber-turned-boxer steps back into the ring in June – but plays down hopes he will fight controversial brothers, insisting: ‘I like those guys’

  • Mike Tyson believes that YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul is set to get badly hurt
  • Mayweather holds an unblemished professional record ahead of the June bout
  • Paul, meanwhile, has fought just once and lost to KSI by split decision in 2019

Mike Tyson believes Logan Paul will receive a heavy beating from Floyd Mayweather when the YouTuber-turned-boxer faces the former five-weight world champion.

The two will face off on June 6 in a highly-anticipated grudge match but Tyson, who has long since insisted that Logan and his brother Jake are good for the sport, can see no way for the underdog to come out on top.

When questioned on the bout, Tyson also played down hopes that he would want to face either of the two online personalities and underlined his respect for them.

Asked by TMZ Sports whether Paul could shock the boxing world, Tyson said: ‘No. He’s going to get beat up pretty bad.’

Mayweather, 44, will step back into the ring for the first time since 2017, when he beat Conor McGregor in the tenth round, and boasts an unblemished 50-0 professional record.

His opponent Paul, meanwhile, has fought just once and suffered defeat by split decision at the hands of fellow YouTuber KSI in November 2019.

The surprise match-up has drawn plenty of criticism but Tyson has admitted he is looking forward to watching.

‘Yeah, it’s going to be good,’ he added.

Despite both Paul siblings looking to broker more big-name fights, ‘Iron Mike’ has emphatically ruled himself out of the running.

Quizzed on the possibility of a fight between him and Logan or Jake, Tyson replied: ‘No, I like those guys, man.’

The stance comes as little surprise with Jake and Mayweather having worked together in the past. The 24-year-old took on Nate Robinson on the undercard of Tyson’s fight with Roy Jones Jr last November.

Logan, however, is adamant that he has at least a puncher’s chance of downing Mayweather in Miami.

‘After this fight I don’t want anyone to tell me something is impossible,’ Paul said.

‘I am representing the guy who was counted out, the guy who believed in himself so much that his unrelenting belief in himself propelled him to success. That’s me.

‘I don’t just think I can beat him. I know I can beat him.’
