  • ‘Drunk’ man is seen unlocking his car before climbing into an identical vehicle
  • The unidentified man fumbles with the key fails to realise he is in the wrong car
  • After being unable to start car he spots his own vehicle flashing across the road

This is the bizarre moment a fumbling man climbs into the wrong car and can’t figure out why his key is not working.

The man, who a witness claimed was ‘drunk and had walked out of a bar’, is seen unlocking his car using his key fob before climbing into an identical vehicle that is already unlocked.

Unable to work out why the key is not working in the ignition the man continually hits the buttons on the key.

He eventually notices his unlocked car flashing and beeping from across the street, in Richmond, Virginia, on the night of Saturday May 1.

Playing it off the man quickly gets out of the car and slams the door before stumbling across the road to his own.

Unbeknownst to the man Surveillance footage captured his mistake, it is not known if the man was intoxicated at the time.

A witness to the incident said: ‘A drunk dude walked out of a bar on a late Saturday night, unlocked his car but climbed into an identical one that was already unlocked.

‘He spent a minute trying to figure out why it wouldn’t turn on, repeatedly hitting his key fob until he finally noticed his car flashing and beeping from across the street.

‘He played it off like nothing ever happened.’

In the footage the man can be approaching the car very slowly and seemingly unsteady on his feet.
