Mecca’s flagship store in Sydney is set to give away hundreds of free potted plants for one day only.
The four-level shop on George Street – the largest beauty store in the Southern Hemisphere – was brought to life with a living art installation, filled with plants of all shapes and sizes, as part of MECCALIFE, the brand’s first dedicated wellness campaign.
The installation will come to an end this weekend – but to ensure none of the potted plants go to waste, beauty fans can take home a living piece.
Shoppers are invited to visit the store from 10am on Sunday, May 23 when staff are expected to dismantle the installation on the ground floor – and 200 plants set to go to a new home on first-come, first served basis, with a limit of one plant per person.

The greenery and florals in the ‘Breath of Fresh Air’ installation were carefully selected by Candy MT to ‘stoke serenity and curiosity within the mind, body and soul’.
The installation combines air purifying plants with edible herbs in an interactive and feel-good way.
Visually, the soft cascading plants of clematis, thyme and swooning salvias add a soft naturalistic feel to our urban environment and the various shades of green help calm.
The sage and rosemary provide mental focus, while rosehips reduce inflammation and promote healthy skin.
Mecca’s flagship store recently launched two curated treatments from Gwinganna as part of its luxurious ‘exclusive services’
Both of the treatments, which are carried out in private Service Suites on level one of the luxurious store, are conducted by two of Gwinganna’s most in-demand therapists and cost $250 for 80 minutes
The free plants come just weeks after Mecca’s George Street flagship store launched two curated treatments from Gwinganna as part of its luxurious ‘exclusive services’.
Gwinganna is a celebrity-beloved retreat nestled in the Gold Coast Hinterland and is known for its incredible spa which was the winner of the World’s Best Eco Spa in 2020; they are the only Australian spa to ever receive the international award.
Both of the treatments, which are carried out in private Service Suites on level one of the luxurious store, are conducted by two of Gwinganna’s most in-demand therapists and cost $250 for 80 minutes.
Each will be available to book online until early June.
The first, the Mecca x Gwinganna Pure Tranquility, is taken straight from the retreat’s menu and is described as a ‘grounding and cleansing journey for the body and the busy mind to help gently release deep layers of stress, fatigue and anxiety’.
‘Using a fusion of esoteric practices and localised massage techniques, this rebalancing treatment includes a warm foot bath, energy cleansing, Indian head massage, body reading and chakra awareness,’ the description reads.
It is recommended especially for those suffering from ‘heartbreak, an extreme mental load, an all-encompassing job or anything that’s left you feeling life a shell of yourself’.

The second, the Mecca x Gwinganna Signature Experience, begins with an intention ceremony to identify what you need most.
The therapist then uses a variety of massage techniques, including soothing hot stones, in a ceremony ‘inspired by the wisdom of the Ancient Hawaiian Kahunas’.
‘Harmonise the heart and mind, align and unite all parts of your authentic self with this beautiful treatment. Ideal for those who wish to experience deep relaxation and powerful bodywork,’ the description reads.
The treatments are available every Friday, Saturday and Sunday until June 6 2021.
