First Lady Jill Biden has seemingly taken a swipe at her predecessor Melania Trump and her infamous jacket which featured the words ‘I really don’t care, do you?’ splashed across it.

Jill and her husband US President Joe met British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Carrie Johnson on Thursday, ahead of the G7 summit tomorrow in Cornwall.

The university professor, 70, was on message for the meet-and-greet, wearing a recycled Zadig & Voltaire blazer with the word ‘love’ on the back, teamed with a polka dot dress.

Former First Lady Melania sparked fierce criticism when wearing a $39 jacket emblazoned with ‘I really don’t care, do you?’ during a trip to a migrant child detention centre in McAllen, Texas, in 2018.

In a sit-down interview with ABC’s 20/20, Melanie told Tom Llamas that the message was ‘for the people and for the left-wing media who are criticizing me.’

However, her outfit choice was lambasted as as being tone deaf, given the tense situation at the time; many of the children had been separated from their parents as part of the Trump administration’s zero-tolerance policy towards illegal immigration.

During her meeting in Cornwall, Jill said: ‘We’re bringing love from America… This is a global conference, we’re trying to bring unity across the globe.’

The First Lady first wore her blazer, by French fashion house Zadig & Voltaire, in 2019.

The Bidens and the Johnsons met on a scenic deck overlooking St Ives Bay, England, with a few of the Atlantic Ocean in front of them.

Ahead of the meeting, officials tried to down play tensions amid a transatlantic row over Northern Ireland, emphasising the special relationship between the two nations.

At the sit down, Biden recycled one of his favorite lines, saying the two men had something in common – both married above their station.  Boris and Carrie Johnson married on May 29.

The face-to-face greeting came after the White House backed down following a report Biden rebuked Johnson for ‘inflaming tensions’ in Northern Ireland.

The Times reported that Biden ordered US officials to give Johnson an extraordinary diplomatic rebuke for putting the Northern Ireland peace process at risk over Brexit negotiations with the European Union.  Biden officials quickly denied the report ahead of the bilateral talks between the two leaders.
