BREAKING NEWS: Police SWAT teams respond in heavy force after reports of shooting at mall near Atlanta

Police are responding in force to a mall on the outskirts of Atlanta following reports of a possible shooting.

Multiple ambulances and police vehicles rushed to the Southlake Mall in Morrow, Georgia on Friday at about 3pm. 

Witnesses told WSB-TV that they believed there had been a shooting in the mall. 

A large section of the mall’s parking lot was sealed off with police tape, and it was unclear if the apparent shooting occurred inside or outside the facility.

One witness inside the mall who said an incident took place inside of Macy’s and perhaps spilled over into the parking area, according to WGCL-TV.

Stores inside the mall were all placed on lockdown. 

Twitter user whose office is near the mall’s parking lot said she had seen three to four ambulances leaving the scene, even as more arrived. 

‘Cops are everywhere,’ she added.

Facebook user Colby Price went live with video showing a large emergency response and police perimeter formed around the mall.

He shared word from the scene that ‘a bunch of young dudes’ had been ‘pulling out guns in the mall.’ At least one male was seen being taken into custody. 

Heavily armed SWAT team members were also spotted entering the mall.
