Nuno Espirito Santo has dismissed claims that Harry Kane could leave Tottenham this summer

Speaking at his first press conference as the new Tottenham boss, Nuno said: ‘Harry is our player. Period.

‘There is no need to talk about anything else. Now is the time for him to recover his energy. When he comes again we will have time to have a good conversation.

‘Now he must prepare for what is coming, I am looking forward to him joining the group.

‘I’m excited to work with all the players. It is best to work with the best players around and Harry is one of those.’

Despite Nuno’s comments, Kane has previously expressed a desire to leave Tottenham this summer.

Kane, who scored four goals to help England reach the final of Euro 2020, is on the hunt for silverware and believes that could require him to leave the North London club.

Nevertheless, Nuno and the club’s new sporting director Fabio Paratici understand the importance of keeping Kane at the club.

Nuno said: ‘Harry Kane is one of the best players in the world, that says it all. I don’t doubt in mind.

‘I have no doubts. What I wish is for Harry to recover well and when he arrives he will feel that every one of us has to commit ourselves to become better, and we are very ambitious.

‘We are ambitious people, we want to do well and we count on Harry.’

As it stands, Kane has scored 221 goals in 336 appearances for Spurs and is currently under contract with the club until 2024.
