- Italian giants AC Milan are now seen as Rodriguez’s most likely destination
James Rodriguez has been informed that he does not feature in Rafa Benitez’s plans this season and is free to leave Everton should the right offer come in.
Sportsmail revealed in June that Everton’s top earner was being offered around clubs in Europe following Carlo Ancelotti‘s departure.
AC Milan are considered his most likely destination if they can cover his wages of around £220,000 a week, while Porto have posted an interest.

The Colombian says he only wants to play at a club where he is ‘wanted’
Rodriguez had told fans on a live Twitch stream: ‘I don’t know what’s going to happen. I don’t know – I don’t know where I’m going to play.
‘You know that in football and in life you don’t know anything, but all I know is that I’ve been training hard, preparing well, training for myself and that’s it.

‘It’s complicated. [I will play] wherever I’m wanted. Someone has to be at a place they’re wanted.’
Everton have financial fair play concerns so losing James’s huge wage plus gaining a transfer fee would be something they have to consider, especially taking into account the player’s absence for large chunks of the last campaign.
He has also been offered to Atletico Madrid and Napoli as his agent Jorge Mendes looks for a solution.
